How much is the Parodius board worth, minus the art? The reason I ask is because it came with my cab that I bought awhile back but it wasn't really figured into the price. The dude just threw it in. I've wondered how much they go for.

A clean Jap board is probably worth around $120, and then maybe a bit less for the other versions ($100-120 range).

I paid $140.00 for an barebones JPN region Sexy Parodius PCB, so that is a perfectly acceptable pricepoint. If you can get it for cheaper, then more power to you.

I thought we were talking about Gokujyo? I think I paid about $120 for the International version, but I think I overpaid just a bit.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:I paid $140.00 for an barebones JPN region Sexy Parodius PCB, so that is a perfectly acceptable pricepoint. Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
My apologies there, at least they're part of the Parodius series nevetheless. There's a certain panche with collecting the JPN region PCBs these days and having access to International variant PCBs are cool in my book as well. It's always good to have a broad exposure to different region PCBs over time. I can easily spot some minor differences with both the original JPN & USA regional variants of Capcom's Hyper Dyne Sidearms PCB circa 1986 (having extensively played the Romstar version numerous times back in the late 1980s as a 2CC affair).professor ganson wrote:I thought we were talking about Gokujyo? Wasn't going to use this curved trinitron, but the picture on my flatscreen was all crazy and has geometry issue up the wahzoo. This setup is looking might fine for day one arcade action. Ahhhhh feeeeels goooooood!!!!!!!!

nice setup chempop! best part is that you can rotate that monitor real easy. rotating an NAC is a pita in comparison.
Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
Thanks guys
The screen kinda looks small in that picture, but it's 27" heavy as hell trinitron.
Funny story about the mecha picture on the wall. I was at a huge open studio event in an old factory/mill that's been long since converted, checking out the various art studios... When I enter one, the first thing I notice is a neogeo cab! Running in it was Blazing Star and I start freaking out, the dork I am. The artist couldn't even believe I knew what a neo geo was, let alone recognizing the game at a moments notice. He had all sorts of shmup models in his studio, r-type ships, gundam, old vintage Japanese toys that stood nearly as tall as my waist. He is a illustrator for some very well know products, Hotwheels, Lego, etc! Apparently I was the first person he'd come across to ever know about neogeo... But it gets better. After I am offered to play a credit (which I eagerly accept), I notice on the cabinet a sticker for Fast Striker! He switches up the carts at my request and I give it a whirl. He gave me the art print after which I k we would look sweet in my game room.
Best part was getting to meet someone with a similar hobby soon after I had moved to a new town. I'll be stopping by his place again when Gunlord is in the cab which he's preordered.

It's nice to see some Bee Storm love. While the game might be a little wonky at parts- I love the aesthetics quite a bit more than the latter panty shooters haha o.o
Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!

Some folks like the non-fixed eprom version of Ketsui (without the shrilly laser sound effect that's used with the bug-fixed eprom variant release). Of course, your mileage may vary.

Nice get Emphatic! I've always wondered if the 360's port is noticeably faster or if it's just the nitpickers nitpicking.

Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
It feels a little faster on the 360 than the PCB.

Also damn that Dragon Blaze PCB looks nice. How much was it? I might try to buy one for the local arcade sometime.
Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
Thanks fellas. It's not bugfixed, so I'm gonna get a new rom for it. Would be cool to have a high score save hack though.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the bugfix, never bothered me a jot. And the lock-on sound is a little annoying.

Is there a good arcade in Seattle? I have to go in April, though I'll probably be too busy with work to take advantage if there is.RNGmaster wrote:Shit are you a troper or something.PC Engine Fan X! wrote: Of course, your mileage may vary.

There's a small arcade in an ice-cream shop in Ballard, but mostly we just have console meets. Bobby owns about 10 candy cabs but there's not enough space to install them all right now.
