Trizeal coming to Playstation 2

Post by ThirdStrike »

Sega announced they will release a PS2 port of the Naomi / Dreamcast shooting game Trizeal, the game will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show.

Kind of interesting now if they would just release Border down,Ikaruga, and Zero gunner 2 we would be set.

This is good news for Triangle. Well deserved also. Good to see the game hit the broader audience.

A lot of the praise it gets goes down the dumpster with this news.

I'm still not buying it...

Exactly what I was going to ask. A reminder for everyone - when posting news, provide a link to the source.

If this is true, I'm happy and will buy the port. There (probably) won't be any new stuff added, but hopefully the slowdown will be removed. Though it's actually rather helpful at times...
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I think the game would look worst on the PS2. But lets hope it isn't true.

Do not use Magic Box as a primary source of news or information. They are always posting unfounded rumors, mistranslations, and mangled half-facts. Please corroborate news with another primary source before spreading it.

Trizeal deserves a PS2 release, the game is surprisingly good (and just for the record I disliked XII stag)

I do not know why but both games just feel hollow. On the arcade and console. It is like they did not polish the games or something. They are decent games but leaves you seeking more.

I've found that Magic Box has been quite accurate, at least for the last 3-4 years (as opposed to when they used to take other sites' images without credit).

Anyway, there's no point to this game if there aren't extras of any sort since you can bet that the visuals won't be as pretty.

Maybe it'll be cheaper? Or at least the price will eventually drop? A cheapskate like myself can hope, anyways, heh heh.

Yeah, I guess PS2 prices do seem to drop faster. For example, Psyvariar 2, which still commands nearly retail prices on the DC but clearance prices on the PS2.

Oh, and for those who demand an official source, look at the bottom of this page:

Well, given that the DC first run included a mini OST CD (OST CDs seem to be standard inclusions with LE DC shmup releases) and a bandana (of all things), the most likely inclusion with a PS2 release would be a super-play DVD (or perhaps a full OST CD, since Triangle Service have yet to release one). I really don't know if it'll include bonus game content over the DC version, given that Fujino himself would most likely one again have to implement it personally (back to late nights at the office and cup-o-noodle).

Chaos Field and Trizeal on the PS2

I thought Trizeal sold very few copies. Who would want to back a PS2 release? Sega? This is confusing :?

Chaos Field was announced on ps2 quite sometime ago.

It is due in November if I remember right.

Pre Order is here.

Wow! Toshiaki Fujino might actually get some decent money out of this, if true!

The info for Goemon 1&2 GBA is a good example of this. They listed features from the original SNES versions of the games as new features.

If SEGA does port Trizeal PS2, I hope they release it in the US. I would like to be able to rent the game and try it out. Too bad a US release isn't too likely even if it does come to PS2. :(

Why exactly is everyone getting excited when an average (Trizeal) and below average (Chaos Field) shmups get ported? You guys are like the guys in LA at 1:50AM when they start thinking the fat chicks look good. But at least they've had too much to drink, what's the excuse around here?

I don't think that means Sega is publishing... just promoting (and will no doubt sell through Sega Direct). Look at the few titles under the Sega Partner's Title section... none of them have the Sega log on the cover. Interesting info though.

Trizeal is very average, which is surprising considering how pathetic that Triangle "plea" was.
