Any other players here? I bought the game the other day and it's scratching my arcade racer-itch nicely, though I don't really care for the prevalent track designs with loops and blind jumps and confusing the player about where he should be going. But I do enjoy how the driving physics, so after finding some good tracks to race on the game feels really sweet.
Maybe we could get some local time attack competition going if there's enough interest.

Bought Trackmania on DS and was impressed by it's slick 60fps framerate overall presentation. Will Trackmania 2 appear on the DS as well?

Re: Trackmania 2: Canyon
After watching some videos about the game, I DL it's free predecessor - and fell in love with the arcadey gameplay. And the crazy tracks.
Then I went and bought/downloaded Part 2, drachenherz is my name "over there".
Feels good, reminds of the good old ridge racer times, with the drifty feeling and all.
Count me in for a friendly Time Attack comp.

Nice, I threw a buddy invite your way.
If you find a track you like, you can easily share the replay to others and compete that way. Sort of like sharing high-scores.

Thanks, will accept you right away, starting a new session. I have to admit, I'll still have to wrap my mind around the online component of this game. I do understand the concept (comparing times, duh), but the screen feels a little bit cluttered with information.Ghegs wrote:Nice, I threw a buddy invite your way.

Yeah, if you're playing online on user-made servers they have tons of lil' windows with all sorts of information. Those can be safely ignored without missing anything (they're mostly stats), though I haven't figured out if they can disabled from showing completely.
Also worth noting is the "O" button, which makes it so you can't see the other players. This is a life saver when there are 60 other cars on the track and you literally can't see the road because of them.
