My fiance and I live in Central Pennsylvania now, we both moved from Kansas City last year. We've liked taking little road trips places when we can. It's a lot different when three hours away is Baltimore, DC, New York and New Jersey, etc., compared to the midwestern sprawl like Tulsa, Omaha, Wichita, Springfield... all kind of samey and we had both seen them a lot as kids. Just this last weekend we spent a quick evening in Baltimore at the new National Pinball Museum and Crabtowne USA (a silly little seafood dive with a huge classic gameroom). I'm still in love with the Atlantic City boardwalk and I HAVE TO go back when it gets warmer.
We both love sushi and although there are some extra decent places here (despite being a small college town area in the Poconos) I was wondering if there's an outstanding place we could find. Looking for some of the best places, it looks like Boston comes up a lot. Has anyone been there and is there one worth the trip? Perhaps something a little closer that is still just as fresh and amazing? I don't know if we're ready for a NY trip yet because of the cost, unless it's like upstate or something, but we're thinking the best ones must be coastal obviously.

Best sushi are self made ones, you control the flavour and texture yourself.

This is the best I've been to, it is in Boston.

I can ask my brother about Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, etc. He'll definitely know.

I can definately agree with this statement, ever since we found a sushi recipe in a cookbook for all things rice.Best sushi are self made ones, you control the flavour and texture yourself.
I prefer mine with wasabi, nori, prepackaged crab meat, diced carrot, and chessnut-though teriayke chicken makes for a pretty good filling too.
Serve it with soup and pot stickers on the side, and mmmmmm-GOOD STUFF.

IIRC, Legal Seafood started serving sushi just before I moved out of NE. Prolly worth looking into.
