Calling All Doujin Pundits!: 落ちる空~ fall down sky ~

Post by mjclark »

Does anybody anywhere know anything about 落ちる空~ fall down sky ~

Image

It was made by the circle who made Under Stellar 2 but everything on their site just 404's now.

I've just played Under Stellar 2 by the way and it blew me away, although can't work out how to unlock 2 Minute Mode yet (from what I can gather it was originally a minigame on the Gunners Broom DVD).
The production values on it are really high and it got me intersted in this circle's other games.

There's something about a trial version of Fall Down Sky being available at Comiket 60 (was that in Victorian times?) but I can't find any other information about it but it looks really really intrigueing :D

It seems that besides having a small commonality with Solid State Survivor (unpopular, and all Google searches of the name return some stupid asian pop song) it's completely untraceable.

Hopefully someone knows. It looks a bit like Nordenfelt but I suspect this plays and looks much better.

And just where the hell do you find this miscellaneous stuff anyway? I was about to bring up Thunder Faith from the dead to smash it into hell (where it belongs) further and now you've come up with another obscure piece of work to pull to pieces....if only we could find it. :P

Ive never heard of it, although c60 is a bit before my time. Maybe it was never finished

edit
My google fu is weak atm but maybe you could see if you can find any old (and probably dead) torrent packs and see if its listed. IIRC there was a c64 (or was it c67 :? ) pack that was on the net a couple of years back.

The only thing I found is a prehistoric 2ch post where someone was asking for a download.

Did they even have computers in the time of C60? Did they even have electricity? I thought that was back in the days when guys were doing pornographic doujin rock carvings of the currently popular goddesses.

C60 was 10 years ago, i started following the comikets aboout 9 years ago (C62 or 63 if im not wrong), so yeah, i heard about the game, i even had a demo of it (i might still have it on a DVD), but i dont remember it being finished at all.

now, finding those torrent packs from comikets that old, is a daunting task.... i mean, it's almost impossible. your best chances are finding one of those chinese FTPs with the comikets collections in it. back in the days, i used to have access to two of them (DJGCN anyone??), but they are long gone.

Would help if the entire site wasn't mojibake.

Doujin circles need to directly link to Toranoana, D-Stage, Amazon.jp Marketplace or otherwise. I'm tired of seeing a HP with patches, but absolutely no method of purchase.

You know I love to sail the seven seas of the interweb seeking shmup bounty eh BP? :D

I do think of you, along with Observer, as a bit of a doujin expert and you're right C60 seems very very ancient...

Wow! If you could find that DVD that would be an astonishing bit of shmup archaeology...

...I'm really taken with The Under Stellar 2 though- turns out to unlock 2 Minute Mode you have to defeat the boss in 4 Minute Mode. That game is so good it certainly deserves a hi score thread and for a game whos last update was over 8 years ago it's wayyyy ahead of its time :D

This is a demo so it shouldn't be a problem posting here:

Crap, sorry mjclark, I had no idea it was protected. I looked through my computer notes and don't see a password for it.........I'm sure it was like this when I got it, I don't PW my files..........

Seeing as this is from 2004, I don't know how to find the password. Maybe someone can crack it?

The last program I used for cracking was a trial and didn't seem to work anyway. Good luck. :P

Fear not- I've got Elcom Soft Advanced Archive Recovery which will do the job if any of us live long enough to see the results.
Bruteforce crack of 4 character password (inc. numerals and symbols) will take 12 days on my machine so if this is say a 16 character password then the mountains will have crumbled to sand and the seas will have evaporated long before it's done :D
If someone on this forum is feeling sufficiently selfless they could volunteer to be reborn over many lifetimes to ensure that this task is completed or perhaps someone who works for NASA could take it on.
We may never get to play the Fall Down Sky demo but, with sufficient determination, our children's children's children's children's children could....

I vaguely remember it being something very simple........I tried FDS and sky, but it didn't work......I'll scan my notes again, maybe it will turn up. The computer it was on crashed, and that is probably where the PW was.

Try the doujin circle name.......

Hmm- that could help cos I can do a crack using only dictionary words which might speed things up...slightly. Also stuff like if it contained numbers or not and spaces...
