I'm still playing this one.

I'm getting pretty good. I manage to avoid the bullet nearly every time.

Here's one even better:

How much for an Cave Pong Matsuri version 1.51 PCB kit? Sign me up for one (as it's bound to be a collector's item later on). It has the much desired INH Pong Superplay DVD + OST as well.

Is certainly better than the original Atari cab version of Pong circa 1972.

I posted a grumpy response to a lighthearted aside in an overly serious thread because everyone is more casual than me.

There's not much more we can say other than "it looks a bit like DFK-BL but I hear it plays more like DOJ" really, is there?

There is no more information on the game available at present. We'll just have to draw out the months by shooting the shit over something else instead.

We've had all sorts of reactions to the loc test. Folks are entitled to an opinion/reaction: they don't deserve burying because a few people cracked sum yokes.

Since when did forum banter get so serious anyway.

brentsg wrote: Top scorers capped out the game quickly. Also, the kits didn't sell through quickly and Cave recalled unsold stock.

It was actually somewhat difficult to source at a time because there were no kit price drops before stock was gone.
Thanks for explaining that. I thought it was because the game was so popular  It was really annoying because I was trying to get an AK kit from Fujita just 6 weeks or so after release and they were already out of stock. I've never encountered that before with any of Caves games. Normally kits seem to be available for well over a year. When this new DDP goes onsale I'm tempted to be an early adopter incase the same thing happens. AK seems to of held it's value well because of the recall strategy.

we already have enough of that, please.
Another interesting thing is:we love dodge, but we prefer DFKBL over DFK 1.5.

lol I owned the PCB and within a few credits I was bored to tears.

I managed to 1cc 1.5 with Power before I sold it but that's besides the point.

Daifukkatsu had everything wrong with it. More bullet eating than ikaruga, 20 minute stages, piss easy bosses, autobomb, etc.

The fact that I could just "skip" the hard parts with a hyper was bollocks.

obligatory: lrn2play

You weren't playing for score and that is where DFK shines. Getting the second extend is exhilarating.
Saying you can "skip" harder patterns with a hyper is like saying Mars Matrix gives you infinite bombs. OH DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS. BOMB.
Then you score goes down the drain

If all you want to do is play a hard game and dodge, play a Tatsujin Ou.

edit: ha, i think cave games are mediocre and even I liked DFK.
lol
