PSP Rox hardcore Proof inside.

Post by ThirdStrike »

Well I am usually a early adopter/Launch buyer for every console and gimmick that comes out from a respected company so I bought a few PSP when they came out. One for me and one for my friend. Well my friend was lame and pawned his PSP and I kept mine in a box on the shelf and waited for something to happen. Well I waited and not alot was going on except for a few UMD movies and 3 really good games plus the prospect of playing a ARCADE perfect port of Street Fighter Alpha 3. WELL THAT DAY FINALLY CAME. I must say the PSP is awesome as hell now. I am using cdr-Win to bin cue my original NEO GEO cd games to play on my PSP. I also got backups of a few PSP games I do own and slammed all 3 on a memory stick. Outside of showing movies and pictures on my PSP and playing games I already beat now I can get down Neo Geo Style.

Sorry for my lame rant. I just think its worth playing Now its kind of Neat.

I do not advocate PIRACY but if you can keep your games mint and play on without putting a UMD in that is cool.

So basically, the PSP is just a Neo Geo Pocket that plays the movie SpiderMan?

Can you play all the Neo Geo games?

I don't really care about portables, but handheld Pulstar could be interesting...

I see no proof for me to warrant a purchase of Sony PSP.

I'll probably get one, but not until the price is at least $100 lower then it is now; but I'm willing to wait as long as that takes.

Ew, you said "rox."

If the PSP had the battery life of.. say.. my ipod, then I would consider it. But I've seen the games, and they're rather impressive for a handheld, so of course they're going to chew through batteries.

Handheld Pulstar is awesome. PSP supports emu for all Neo Geo CD games and SNES, Genesis, NES, and a few older MAME titles.

Wow and to think I felt cool for having Nester on mine. How is the speed on those games? Any chopiness or slowdown?

Any more info on neo geo and nester and such (what should I search for)? I'd buy one if I could have full Neo Geo on it!

Same, I'll probably wait for a price drop. I'm not a Sony fan...but PSP looks good. I mean, come on. It does quite a bit for being a HANDHELD.

Hell, I'm sold on the SNES emulation, with proper sound and graphics, unlike a certain underpowered Nintendo handheld I know. (Hint: It's not the DS)

A portiable Metal Slug sounds kickass as well.

Does the emulation drain the battery faster than a Hummer guzzling premium gas?

It runs off of the Flash Memory Stick so it does not use as much battery. Everything I have tried so far runs really well. I am really enjoying it so far. :) Chrono Trigger, Sengoku Cannon, Vampire Chronicle, Baseball Stars 2, Ridge Racer, Metal Slug 1 and 2, Last Blade 1 and 2, Samurai Shodown 4, Iron Clad , Super Mario World, Sonic The Hedgehog ,Mike Tyson's Punchout and gunstar heroes PRICELESS!!!

Sounds cool, a portiable Earthbound would kick ass. Sony tries to tie this kind of stuff down however with their so-call "firmware upgrades." So what is the latest verison firmware you can have without disabling the hardcore hAx0rz stuff? (yes, I know I used leetspeak).

Version 1.50, currently.

Anyone else have problems with diagonals on the Dpad? It's annoying the hell out of me...

Metal Slug Advance is actually *really* good. I'm impressed with how well MSA turned out, considering the hardware limitations of the GBA. Looks great, and has no lag at all. (I've played through the entire game a few times, and haven't encountered any) SNK does it again. ;)

It certainly is. So is Last Resort, Alpha Mission II, etc...
