NeoFlex VESA Wall Mount Review [With Pictures]

Post by Vorde »

Hey guys,

I figured I would write a review for one of these things since it took me forever to find out what I really wanted for my set up, and also the fact that there's little information on these Neo-Flex wallmounts and what they do.

So here is what's inside the packaging once it's all opened up:

Once I got it all opened up and displayed, the instructions were pretty simple. Basically you have to take the main "arm" of the device, and screw it onto the back of your display. Once I disconnected all the cables from my monitor, I took it downstairs, and put a towel to lay the screen on. Then I managed to get the damn base part off (pain in the butt since it refused to come out until I used a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the plastic up a bit).

Here it is just lying there ready to be screwed... into the wall mount arm:

Then I lined up the back part of the arm with the holes for the VESA on the back of the display. Once it was lined up, I just screwed in the black screws really really tightly (tried 3 times on each screw to get it in there as tight as possible; you don't want 150 dollars falling from the mount onto the floor...)

Display with "arm" attached:

After the arm was attached, it was time to get the base part into the wall for it to sit on. Now this part was hard seeing as the damn instructions say that it's meant to be screwed directly into a wooden beam, or mounted against a steel shafting of some kind. I had to get it into a plaster wall, and may sure it stayed. No way were two small screws going to be keeping up 16lbs for a long period of time. I'm glad on the actual plastic mount you get into the wall it has multiple holes for more screws if you have them.
I managed to find some left over from different building projects, and ended up using 6. 4 at the top, and two big ones at the bottom.
I didn't have a drill either like it said, so I used a hammer and managed to hit the screws into the wall a bit, and twist them until they were all the way into the wall like I needed.
Making the holes first was the best idea I had during the installation, as I simply leveled the base on the wall, and used a pen to mark where the holes would be. Then made the holes with the screws, lined them up with the base, and screwed them into place.
Then came another tricky part, you put the arm + monitor into this plastic base mounted on your wall, and put 4 small screws into the bottom to secure it into place. Lucky for me, I have two large stereo speakers I could balance it on, so while it was being balanced I put the 4 screws into place.
Plugged it all back in, and voila it worked really really well.
Here's a picture of the finished product :D

Works really well for TATE mode, and I'm loving it so far ^_^

Sorry about the mess up on the pictures. I'm not sure why they're not displaying properly.
If you click on the links they should load, sorry =\
