I didn' get much sleep friday night.
Thanks for coming out.
Way too slow. Thanks though.shmuppyLove wrote:Woo woo
Got that MAME setup working yet?![]()
Which reminds me, we still have some older PCs lying around if you want me to grab some parts. The Intel ones aren't great since it's some weird form factor, but the AMD ones are standard microATX boards, with an Athlon 64 3800+, could probably find 1GB of RAM, and a PCI Express slot. Not sure how they would be for MAME, I should fire one up and try it out ...
Correction: They're 3200+ processors, running at 2GHz.
Yes. Please. Do this.jonny5 wrote:Maybe fire it up this evening and see....who knows

Maybe tonight....shmuppyLove wrote:Yes. Please. Do this.jonny5 wrote:Maybe fire it up this evening and see....who knows
Actually, you'd be surprised. I just fired one of them up today with 768MB of RAM in it, installed XP, and on MAME 143u9 it'll run DOJ, Bakraid, Batsugun, CPSII, Neo Geo, pretty much everything 100%jonny5 wrote:Way too slow. hmmmm...well put one aside for me just in case. ThanksshmuppyLove wrote:Actually, you'd be surprised. Anyway they're here, we have a few of them, and they're likely not going anywhere anytime soon.
They're HP small form-factor boxes, but it's a standard microATX motherboard, so you could pull it and mount in another chassis or just open in a cab. It's also got a full-sized PCI-E slot for a graphics card and two SATA ports with RAID support.
I think the on-board video should be fine? It's an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 integrated adapter.jonny5 wrote:hmmmm...well put one aside for me just in case. Thanks![]()
Main issue would be finding a semi modern PCI-E card that still supports soft15khz.
Either way, good for a backup.
Might work. I've found that often times on-board stuff wont work with soft15khz because they use modified proprietary drivers, which soft15khz doesn't like.shmuppyLove wrote:I think the on-board video should be fine? Otherwise, I see in the Soft15kHz thread on arcadeinfo.de that Radeon 3450 and 4350 card are supported, which should be easy to find and pretty cheap (~$40)
I will play the hell out of itbrendz wrote:I got stuff to do in the morning, prob wont make it til @4. If people are coming who will play galuda2 ill bring it.
