Try shooting for a no-bombs clear. That will not only guarantee you entering the 2nd loop but will also serve as good practice. Just don't give up on the game man, it's really hard and sure it can make you pissed as fuck but when you kick ass it gets really rewarding.

Try setting up savestates for Ura as the chirp recommended. Then go banging your head against the 2-3 boss and hate life until you get good at it. Or decent at it. Or be like me and fail miserably at it.

Just think of it like this, if you cannot clear the main game with lives+bombs used being 6 or less then you probably wouldn't make it longer than 2-2 at best because of how ridiculous the loop is.

EDIT: Also, what's your score? Are you even interested in playing for score? If you can find the motivation to do so, then by all means learn something about the scoring. It makes at least the earlier stages much more enjoyable as well as boosting your consistency.

I'm not a fan of extra loops in general, and I particularly dislike the way CAVE usually does them: it's not enough that you have to play practically the same game twice in order to see the secret final boss and beat it fully; you have to complete some inane or tedious requirement just to unlock the second playthrough.
Of course, that's just an opinion.
Always seeking netplay fans to play emulated arcade games with.

There's nothing inane or tedious about learning to play better, unless you consider "learning to play" to be tedious to begin with (ahahaha). Your resources help a lot in the second loop anyway.

I don't know how to convince you otherwise, but trust me when I say that it's taken three years of playing shmups and I still don't have a really huge amount of skill with the genre. However, I find that taking a break and playing another title (may I suggest Blue Wish Resurrection? Damn good game) will probably benefit your Ketsui ability, and you may be surprised by how much better you score when you come back. It might also help to learn the scoring system, like follow a scoreplay or something.

And if you actually offed yourself because of Ketsui (which I doubt) I'm sorry to all parties involved.

Nothing to do with 2nd loops, but I usually find it more exciting when the 1CC happends with zero room for error in the end.

Yea I was about to post this exact thing. I think the real issue is if Cave and 5pb will work together to make a Ketsui NA release possible. With all the Evac Industries stuff, I would say It's more likely we'll see a Ketsui GoD port, or probably even more likely is an iOS port.

What, not get hit too much? Isn't that like what you're trying to do normally too?

If you have trouble meeting the requirements, you most likely wouldn't make it past 2-2 anyway so it shouldn't even matter. Only Cave loop requirements that could still give you some trouble with sufficient skills are Ketsui Ura and to much lesser extent DFK Ura, but the Ura loops are supposed to be a reward for doing exceptionally well and you will still always get the normal loop if you fail those. Only MMP has weird requirements since getting hit is part of normal gameplay in that so you need to alter your playstyle if you want to loop it.

After 14 hours of sleep (by a mistake) I'd like to present you:

I've done damn good runs today, I hit 45mil at the beginning of stage 4, I no-miss no-bombed the whole stage 5 from midboss till the end, and there was some really mad dodging at some parts that my jaw hit the ground. (which is kind of strange considering it's my own gameplay)
Oh, and RNG, thank you for yet another post which makes me smile.
Disappointed that picture didn't say WELCOME TO SPECIAL STAGE on it. :lol: :lol:

Good to see you're back on the ball. You'd be surprised how much help it is to take a break after a good session of shmupping.

First time I played on a candy cab, it was quite disorienting looking up and seeing the screen angle with bullets distorting as they fell down the screen, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Now I don't even notice it.

I have a hard time playing on a curved tasted screen, one of the main reasons why I've held back on cabs, Flatscreen CRT seems ideal to me.


Congrats on the 2nd loop! Remember that even the best players only have successful runs 1 out of many attempts. You are kicking Ketsui's ass, don't let your rage get in the way of progress :wink:
