You're very lucky if you can even find one. They stopped making those wheels a long time ago and for some reason never made more. Your only hope is eBay at this point.

I ended up settling for a Driving Force GT and I'm happy with it (despite a minor pedal problem). It's way cheaper than the other two wheels and it was made especifically to play GT5. Paid $120 for it.

I know that Logitech still sells the G27 direct and the best coupon I remember them offering was for 50% off anything on their site. After free shipping, do the math. I should've gotten one then but I really wanted an all-encompassing wheel; that may have been a mistake on my part.

2.02 has actual hard-medium-soft tire balancing now, though I'm still not sure of the differences between the tire levels. Updating to 2.02 also gives you a free 86 GT '12, which gets a new player off to a pretty quick start. There's also a kart prize that involves buying DLC, but I don't really understand it (could I buy the Complete Pack and get the kart)?

Now, Japan already got its Spec II disc; America will probably be getting it soon as that "XL Edition" you may have heard about. From what I know, the existing Spec II disc is 2.0X and has the original 4 DLC packs. XL Edition is to be $40 like a good little updated rerelease, whatever it's going to be.

I've noticed that the XL Edition of GT5 is out now in stores stateside with a MSRP of $39.99 USD. What's new in this release compared to the original GT5 release?

It includes all the patches until last October and some of the DLCs (some extra cars and a couple of tracks, including Spa). If you already have the game, you can just go to the Store and buy the extra DLC for a better price.

Just a heads-up: there's a special event going on right now called the GT Academy. You compete in 8 separate rounds, each one with 5 events each. The top players in the final round will get to ride a real car in a real circuit (though obviously none of us will make it there).

The thing is, *you don't need the GT5 disc to participate in this event!* The GT Academy is a standalone game you can get for free from the PS Store. So for all intends and purposes, you get to try out a bit of GT5 for free.

For the rest of us who own the game, completing the events will get you unique cars and racing gear to use in GT5.

This event will last until July 26th.
