What the hell? It's not like this at all. All the veteran characters address one another as old acquaintances.

You sure? I coulda sworn that wasn't the case. Damn that's some strong weed. I'll go back on tonight anyway, thanks for setting me straight.

Man, I'm loving this game. Sure, it's got 100% combos and shiz up the wazoo, but holy fuck, you have to put in a shitton of effort to actually pull it off. Doing anything beyond Mission 5 for most characters is a major exercise in precise execution. But oh man, it's ohhhhh so satisfying.

Well I got the game finally. Add me if you live on the west coast.

GT: SantaPoring

The game's execution isn't really hard either. I think people are too use to the shortcut inputs of SF4. But landing bnb combos in kof13 is way easier than those 1 frame links in SF4.

Here's 3 combos I made, and it didn't take any time at all. Buy the game people, it's really really good.

If anyone is interested, the demo was released a couple of days ago on the PSN Store. I downloaded it but didn't get to try it out yet.

Yeah. I had fun with that game when I was young. Good times.

A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing at my local Gamestop and didn't see the 360 version of KOF13 on the retail shelving. Asked if they still had some in stock and lo behold, they did. The copy that I got even came with the four CD OST collection even though I hadn't preordered it earlier.

So yes, it's still possible to get either the PS3 or 360 NTSC U/C version of KOF13 with the bundled four OST disc set bonus at Gamestop. Just don't wait too long before the second batch of KOF13 game shipment arrives minus the four CD OST collection, then it'd be too late.

KofXiii won fighting game award 2011 from gamespot. I know that doesn't mean much since it's... a video game review site, but I still find it quite amusing they decided to be controversial by picking this niche title over the other big boys.

To me it wins the best Fighting game this console gen so far.

Tried the demo and liked the game a lot. Unfortunately online matches are laggy for me so I'll have to stick to offline if I decide to buy it.

It's a reference to rotary-stick run-n-guns I used to play in arcades. Specifically, Ikari Warriors and Heavy Barrel.

I've seen the NES version around in used game shops, but I don't think I would like it without the rotary stick.

I'm glad KoF won the Gamespot award. Seems like the only sincere fighting game award this year. MK is popular and flashy, but it's always been pretty shallow as a fighting game.

I would say get it or try it on emulator. It's one of my favorite games on the nes. Solid controls, graphics, and some really good tunes.

My only complaint is that the background is a bit uninspired and redundant.

I may do that sometime, but I just remembered that I have this on my Wii. It was part of a Data East arcade compilation.

Definitely play a few credits if you ever see the arcade game. It's one of my favorites.

So Mr. Karate is out for 400 space bucks/$5.00. Plays like 2002 Takuma with a few new tricks. Probably the best of the three DLC characters.

Or we could try to find a brazilian community of KoF XIII. I can't believe KoF which is one of the most popular series around here have no people playing its last iteration.

Though sometimes I feell people around here is stuck playing 98 forever, heh.

I have the game, but didn't even try it online, as I believe I would be destroyed, since I barely played it offline. I've been playing more of Mortal Kombat, since its easier to play with a dpad, and it's the first Mortal Kombat game ever which I actually do like... and I've been able to be quite competitive playing online :D

I'm sad to say: the game is not clicking with me as I hoped it would.

I've spent the majority of the past three days in training mode and can barely hit basic BNBs.
Maybe if I had some competition it would be funner, but combos in training mode are not enough to keep me playing alone.

I'm going to take a break from the game and go back to GG, where I can spend all day in training mode and have fun.

Did you at least try the story mode? It'll keep you amused for a couple hours. A lot leaner than GG and Blazblue's similar modes.

Here's the same, only with 2k2. I can see why they are like that though, the game, while very good, is a bit simpler than older KOFs. Especially when you compare it with 2k2 UM.

There are many 2k2 around here too, but they usually have some hack which makes both fighters always have 5 bars of special and all bosses are enabled from default. It just too annoying to play like that, it completely breaks the game.

Mesh you're never online to compete with.

Well I've played a shit ton and getting burned out on it. I can pretty much use all the characters at this point, but the online community is too small for me to care much. I'm guessing most are going to be switching over to the next big fg, like skullgirls or SCV.

My Internet service + the netcode make the game unplayable online. I played a friend ten miles away and had really bad lag, even on the character select screen.

Tried it online for the 1st time. Didn't find anyone from Brazil playing, so I played with 2 different guys in USA.

The lag was really noticeable.. not good.

And I beat both, hehe :)

I also noticed there aren't a lot of people playing indeed. Shame, it's certainly a better game than MK (which I aways find people online to play) and UMvC 3

I've heard mixed reports about that, with some people saying they'll only fix the matchmaking/lag display (the bars can be very misleading), rather than the netcode itself :| Though it's been two months already, so I guess that makes a full patch more likely now...

Ugh yeah 2k2 bootlegs with infinite power meter are the absolute worst. Everyone picks Vanessa / Iori / whatever and infinite you to death with custom combos.

The funniest are the '97 bootlegs that let you shrink your character by pressing start, dunno if that wonder made it to Brazil.
