WHAT IF: There was a CAVE fighting game?

Post by Casper<3 »

Reco - the shoto, as she's easily the most recognizable
Asagi - Just too awesome of a design to leave out
Seseri - No brainer
Lei (CAVE gone Bridget, no Yo-Yo)
Windia
Sakura
Lenyann
Exy
A.I - has 3 modes, bomb, power and strong
Momo Barasoto
Super Nova (Pink Sweets)
Sumire Asaka (my favorite design! Shin Akai Katana)

I'm imagining Lenyann as a charge character with a huge laser super (think ironman in MvC2 type of huge laser)

One of Reco's supers would have to be a Bug Panic bomb.

A.I's moves and supers would change depending on what mode she was in (ABA from Guilty Gear style)

I'm guessing a Cave fighting game would be pretty ambitious even in Mugen, since you would need to draw all the sprites from scratch rite?

Would be a fun project though. I often mused about an Ibara fighting game and then Tomoyuki Kotani went and did the designs for indie fighter Yatagarasu, which is about as close as we can get for now.

Super attacks:

Reco = Futari's stage one dinosaur breathes fire from above
Bond = Carpet bombs the screen (max 16 hit)
Windia = Pumpkin laser from top of umbrella
Rosa = Throws a bouquet of roses in the style of Dudley from SFIII (max 32 hit)
Kikyo Saijoni = Grab super: thousand Katana slash (finishes with "刀" blood emblem)
Exy = Grab super: electrocution in the style of Benimaru from KOF

Ring & Bolt from Progear with their little copilots as special attacks. Also, the ninja from Nin2Jump for a game&watch style character.

How about a Twinkle Star Sprites type game with Cave characters/ships? They could name it King of Shooters 2012, and make a new version every year. :P

(hmm, that reminds me, I have a dreamcast game named Psychic Force 2012. Why am I not flying around yet?)

He'd be super-broken, but would also make an annoying sound every time you hit a button or moved the joystick.

Then again, such a cameo might not be as far-fetched as we think...

Would need a gigantic Hibachi boss. I'm thinking along the lines of MvC3's Galactus.

His tiny second form would zip around the screen and perform ridiculous full-screen supers.

I think Larsa should be the final boss. You fight her in her fatso form at first, in which her super is calling in her golden dragon to toast you. Once you chip a round off her she transforms into Spiritual Larsa, some badass hotness who wields glowing purple orb-shaped fireballs.

A Cave fighting game would NEED to have the announcer from Donpachi making remarks throughout.

It would basically be one of the Touhou fighters but with even more retarded combos I'd imagine. Examu is probably the only developer with enough imagination to turn something into a fighter since they made one with a bunch of boring visual novel characters.

I have AH3, and while nothing about it reminds me of CAVE. I would hate for a CAVE fighter to be anything like AH3.

This.

I was actually planning to make a KeithSomataw parody post but it seems the creativity stars were not in alignment.
