Inafune was in a non-creative position. They outsourced to ensure the company's financial stability. He even said that he had suggested to Capcom on several occasions that in the current situation, they were employing a ton of domestic employees who were simply getting paid for nothing.iconoclast wrote:Inafune was the one who steered Capcom into heavy outsourcing to begin with, which has resulted in one great game (Bionic Commando Rearmed), one mediocre game (Dead Rising 2), and lots of trash (everything else). He may have been good at one point, but he's gone completely insane over the last couple years. Good riddance.
He recommended drastically shrinking the in-house workforce to keep the bottom line healthy, but Capcom refused.
Someone as insightful as Inafune was in that interview regarding the state of the Japanese industry isn't a 'good riddance' employee by any stretch, he's just being used in the wrong capacity.
