He may have been good at one point, but he's gone completely insane over the last couple years. Good riddance.
Inafune was in a non-creative position. They outsourced to ensure the company's financial stability. He even said that he had suggested to Capcom on several occasions that in the current situation, they were employing a ton of domestic employees who were simply getting paid for nothing.
He recommended drastically shrinking the in-house workforce to keep the bottom line healthy, but Capcom refused.

Someone as insightful as Inafune was in that interview regarding the state of the Japanese industry isn't a 'good riddance' employee by any stretch, he's just being used in the wrong capacity.

I hope they include a mode where the game plays itself from beginning to end without any input. That way, I can rent it, grab some popcorn, and call my friends over to watch this cool anime movie.

The two stages in the demo, plus the video I linked earlier that shows another stage, all plays the exact same way. You can bet the whole game will be like that.

At the very least it's enough to say, "I'm not buying this until I hear different". A demo is certainly enough to know rather or not to take a launch day leap of faith.

Mass Effect 3 will include almost exactly that, and Arkham Asylum/City are already close enough without any special modes.

saw the visuals put it on preorder on amazon for free

months later read this

The game is basically an interactive movie, with QTEs prompting every now and then. There are some gameplay bits but they're very short, you usually fight or shoot something until you fill up a bar, at which point you'll go BURST and proceed to the next scene.

The game certainly has crazy over the top action, but that's it. Once you finish the story, there's no reason at all to play it again.

The whole thing feels like a shonen anime. If it was a show it'd certainly be great to watch, but as a game it fails.
removes preorder. may pick it up on the eventual price drop a month after release. 20quid max buy
at least they are trying something new'ish.

I love the demo. Amazing dynamics in direction and animation.

I know lots of people are complaining about this, saying, "OH, ITS JUST AN OVER THE TOP ANIME WITH QTE." Yeah, well, at this point I'm fine with that. Honestly, who was expecting an action game on par with DMC, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, etc? Impossible. Best they could do (and it seems as if this is the route they're taking) is make this game the equivalent of a beat-em-up with intense (interactive) cut-scenes.

That's fine with me. It is what it is ... nothing this well-executed or stylistic is coming out of Japan, anime-wise, anyways, so if I have to press a few buttons to enjoy a style of entertainment I've been without for the past 10 years, I'm cool with that.

That said, even I won't pay 60 dollars for this ... I think I'll probly cave around $30

lol, Redline excluded. That's funny, because for a long time I was hoping/considering/imagining this game as "Redline: The game"
In that respect, the demo didn't dissapoint ... he put a sword through the planet!

(man... Redline...)
