The only cab in good condition is Darius Burst upstairs.
Correction...
Excellent cab: DariusBurst
Good cabs: DeathSmiles, DDP BeeStorm, DDP and Mushihimesama
Ok cabs: DDP DOJ (colours imperfect) and Progear (flickers abit)... both of these are playable...
Sounds nice. I am mostly interested in trying out Mushihimesama as that's the only one I can't emulate/play on console. I guess I'll be down tomorrow then.

Oh - so you're in town? What a shame I can't make it down tomorrow. It's always nice to have meet a passing fellow shmuper!

Casino, why are you so shit?

Progear doesn't give you credits anymore, just takes your money, and the monitor is still unplayable anyway. Guy came from downstairs and tried punching it a few times but suprisingly this didn't work. Engineer has done the rounds and set all the cabinets to the hardest difficulty. On the Guilty Gear cabinet Player 1 has no heavy slash attack and Player 2 joystick has no down diagonals so you can't input specials or crouch block.

Awesome.

Most (all?) of the fighting games have been set to the hardest difficulty since always. At least I hope that's what Taylor means.

This reminded me, a few weeks ago while I was playing Mushi a guy I didn't recognise came in, got his money eaten by Progear twice (I think he got his pound back and was told it was fixed after the first), went over to DOJ and got another pound eaten, and then made an angry face and went upstairs. He was enjoying Darius with someone else when I left but I don't think he got a good impression of Casino.

It is a good question.

Since we all spend so much time, money and effort lending them PCB's you think they would be kind enough to spend just a little money to improve the hardware. The place is falling apart at the seams.

At least Mushihimesama was set to Hard. Dunno about the others.

Oh and I got a pound eaten by Deathsmiles too.

Skykid's right. I don't think they know how lucky they are to have us pump effort and money into the place. It's a shame owner John is rarely at the place to see our effort or have us ask him about sorting this shit out.

I guess we have to remember that the fact it is old and crumbling is also the reason we an get away with installing our boards.

Anyway, I am in this Tuesday. I WILL have my Outzone board with me, and if I get the engineer in a good mood I'll really try and get him to change that Mushi setting. I'd spend a lot more money on it if it were set to Normal.

They should really know that they would make more money if they had everything on default settings.

They should also know that having working sticks and buttons means making more money, so... I can't even comprehend Taylor's post with regards to Guilty Gear, why would you run cabs that are virtually unplayable :| And didn't some of you guys even volunteer to buy sticks and buttons in the past?

I shudder to think about playing some of those fighting games in arcade on hardest difficulty too with psychic AI... and it'd be pretty inconvenient while waiting for another player to join in for VS too. Or Progear if it's on difficulty 8...

I'm not sure every single game there is on hard difficulty. Unless it's changed in the last week or two...

You know if you think about it we don't actually put that much money in. I reckon a generous average for our weekly sessions would be about £10, when I'm around I put in about £5-10 over the rest of the week, CHI probably the same or a little more, and no one else can usually make it more than once a week. Then there's probably a couple of quid a week from random people and non regulars. I doubt the cost of improving the shmup cabs could be in any way justified, even considering Casino is making a loss to begin with and being run despite that.

There is virtually no difference between Mushi on hard or normal difficulty - not sure about DOJ, pretty sure that's on normal, as is Deathsmiles. Anyone who loses money just head upstairs and tell them, they'll give you it back - you might even get to fill in the top secret book...

It's all part of the "charm" of Casino. Could be great but doesn't work properly, much like life.

I'm pretty convinced DOJ nd DS are on Normal. I just want Mushi on Normal in case I could ever submit a score here for Maniac!

I don't, fuck that. :)

I'd rather have sticks, buttons and games that are playable as opposed to a charming, decrepit pool of rickety arcades that eat your money a third of the time. Perhaps they should just employ us and let us run the place, handle the budget and get things orderly again.

I'll be down on Tuesday also. Have been playing a lot of Truxton on both Mame and Mega Drive so I'm hoping this will give me the edge with Outzone. Or not.
