So I brought home the bulk of my puzzle games. I've only played a few thus far.
I definitely stand corrected about BaM 99. I don't think I've played it since '99 or '00 and I like it just as much as any of the others. For some reason I used to think that one was the weakest link.
Pop 'n Pop is pure genius. I had also forgotten how much I like this. After two days of hard play, I have decided that this it Taito's coup de grace. Their trump card. It's their best puzzler ever. As if the core gameplay weren't stellar enough the characters, enemies and backgrounds all come from Taito's classic platform games. Playing a puzzle game as Jim from Don Doko Don or as the lil brown guy from Liquid Kids is fucking killer. They're all here, Bub the dragon, Bub the boy, the lil chicken from NZS, Ptolemy from Fairyland Story and all of their "2P" counterpart characters from said games. Pure gold I tell you.
Anyone play One Piece Mansion? I picked it up at release but pretty much overlooked it. I might've given it an hour before yesterday. Yesterday though I just couldn't get into. It's too busy to be a true puzzle game. Any fans? Am I missing something?

I need to get a better version of Pop 'n Pop. I like Yogi Bear's Great Balloon Blast GBC quite a bit despite the horrid changes from the European and Japanese GBC Pop 'n Pop, but the Taito characters and setting are just much more fun. Telling from the screens, the game looks much better in the arcade and PS1 revs than any of the GBC revs too.PaCrappa wrote: Pop 'n Pop is pure genius. I had also forgotten how much I like this.
