I bring this up because in each of the Options menus of Arrange, Black Label, Arcade, and 360 modes, you get an option to change the background music. (For example, playing the Black Label music during Arcade mode, etc.) Only problem is, the option is greyed out and unselectable to me. Is this something I have to unlock by 1CCing the game or something? Your input is much appreciated.
Also, I might as well bring this up too. Is there any way to get the re-drawn sprites and backgrounds for Arcade mode? I tried turning smoothing on, but it still looks like ass on a high definition TV (I normally use a giant CRT, but I'm on vacation right now and HDTV is all I have.). I've also noticed that Black Label looks much crisper and the 2D graphics look flawless. I'm guessing they redid the graphics for that one for HDTVs, but they didn't bother to do that for the port's Arcade mode.

I'm not sure how to unlock the music change feature, but I'm certain you don't have to 1cc it since I used the BL soundtrack while learning the game. Maybe you just have to credit feed through each mode or something?

That was the idea - the Arcade mode was a pretty-much-exact duplicate of the original arcade game, right down to the low-res graphics (and a glitch or two), while 360 mode was enhanced/tweaked a bit. In fact, people have complained that the more recent Cave arcade ports lack an Arcade mode.Siren2011 wrote:I'm guessing they redid the graphics for that one for HDTVs, but they didn't bother to do that for the port's Arcade mode.

Oh, so what you're saying is you are able to change the music? If so, then that's great. I don't want to credit feed, but I might have my brother do it for me in hopes of unlocking this. Still, I don't know for certain if this would work... The music is changeable by changing it from the main menu (ie after "Press Start") instead of the individual game modes options menu.
As for how to unlock individual music playing, if anyone knows it'd be new to me too.

Credit feeding is beneath your dignity so you're having your brother do it for you? Not cool, man.Siren2011 wrote:Oh, so what you're saying is you are able to change the music? Oh yes, I'm such an idiot for not wanting to ruin the game for myself in order to unlock arrange music for arcade mode. What I should do is credit feed like DTP.
I highly suggest that you quit posturing and get over yourself. A huge part of the enjoyment comes from earning the privalege of seeing each unexplored stage and boss. Credit feeding is the best way to ruin that. What on earth is bad about this?
Also, it seems like such a task is not even needed. I have figured out how to make it work with the method that banshee suggested. Thanks for your help, guys.

Uhh, what? One of DTP's big issues is he -doesn't- credit feed. There's absolutely nothing wrong with credit feeding if the goal is to learn the game thoroughly.Siren2011 wrote:Oh yes, I'm such an idiot for not wanting to ruin the game for myself in order to unlock arrange music for arcade mode. Wow, I can't believe I made that blunder.
Anyway, I never said there was anything wrong with people who become better through credit feeding (though I rather use practice mode, and use it only on the stages I can reach on one credit.). I was pointing out to RNGmaster that it cheapens the playing field for myself alone, which is why I would rather let my brother beat the game without me in the room watching him play (that's the idea...) in the event that there was no other way to unlock arrange OST for arcade mode. But there is. So...
