Really? I played score attack recently and Ex1 attached itself to the end of the loop. In the scoreboard a little ex symbol will appear in front of the score total to differentiate if you're playing with the extra stages. Sadly it doesn't split the board like in Otomedius G. The current top scores on the NA board doesn't reflect this, but if you look a few pages down it is there.dieKatze88 wrote:They aren't ranked, at all. They can only be played in multiplayer mode, although nothing is stopping you from playing alone in multiplayer mode.
In multiplayer you can play them by themselves, or after the main loop, so the stage order is:
1 -> 7, EX1 -> EX8, back to 1.

Does anyone know if the US version works on PAL consoles?

Play-Asia claims it does not.

Esmeralda and Poini. But only 2 of the tracks are by Namiki.Estebang wrote:I'll finally have some space bucks to buy this stuff come Christmas--which music pack is the one with Namiki's work?

EX Stage 3 released, G.T. name for it is "Bowl Island", which the JP text name for the stage banner makes this in the description somewhat to Twinbee. And now I have to wait on the NA release though, with the last 2 outfits coming...
"Island resident's pastel bowl (CV: can to Shiina) and there was an emergency call in from bacterial invasion. Please immediately and rushed!"
Note: Its Google Translate, and blame the sorry Engrish until the NA DLC comes by.

Gotta love Google Translate.
I'll have a video up tomorrow morning when it gets released here.

In an oh-so-hilarious move, EX3 wasn't released in NA today.

Any word on when Stage EX3 is reaching the States? Greatly enjoyed the first one, and the second was decent.

Well, how bout asking on the OE fan page on facebook, since I have really no clue why EX 3 (and the last 2 outfits) haven't been out yet until they plan to. Not even the JP version got anything (as of post) this week.Estebang wrote:Any word on when Stage EX3 is reaching the States? Greatly enjoyed the first one, and the second was decent.

I hope they haven't given up on bringing all the DLC to the US version. The number of people buying it here might not even be in triple digits: last I checked, the EX stages and characters had about 15 star ratings each. And Konami has to pay Microsoft for every Marketplace update. I don't use Facebook, so someone else will have to ask Konami.
Not that it affects me, but I guess we can rule out any hope of a PAL release.

I hope not. The TwinBee stage looks fun.

Another marketplace update without EX Stage 3. Looks like Konami's given up.

Its not that DLC is bad but when they release as much as they did for this game it gets expensive and annoying.

I don't think they've given up so much as they don't want to give 8 stages over 2 months. I still haven't gotten to the 3rd extra stage with everything going on in my life.Estebang wrote:Another marketplace update without EX Stage 3. Looks like Konami's given up.

I see, and like I said before, shouldn't you guys (those with FB accts.) bother to write on their "Wall" to tell them why any DLC haven't came in 3 weeks (as of post) in NA, the only DLC we haven't got from the JP version yet is Arnval's Kimono and Gesshi's PE Uniform, and also EX Stage 3. And if its any consideration, the JP version stopped having DLC as of the last week of Dec. 2011.

That's like saying "It's not that buttrape is bad"sideshow wrote:Its not that DLC is bad
The only instance of DLC not being bad is when it's a FREE reward for people who purchased the game, and when it was created as an afterthought (=not on the game disc).
Selling bits and parts that should be free unlockables is buttrape.
Why don't you vote with your wallet? Especially since the game in question is mediocre at best, and that's being generous.sideshow wrote:but when they release as much as they did for this game it gets expensive and annoying.
By giving them your money you are telling them you enjoy buttrape, and want more of it in the future.

Still no answers from Konami, huh? Or are we too busy with TEH KONSOLE WARZ to ask?

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Excellent (Xbox 360) to U.S.
After taking like almost a whole month for the NA ver. to get the remaining DLC for OE, all that's left for now is...
Arnval's Summer Kimono/Gesshi's PE Uniform (160MSP)
(And) EX 3: Donburi Island (480MSP)
Guess I don't have to bother Konami now, that is all.

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Excellent (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Alright, I have to say that this is the strongest of the EX stages. It's got a lot of variety, including a great vertical-infinite section, and actually manages to be challenging (by Otomedius standards). The return of Pastel and Winbee doesn't hurt either, and they're by far the toughest EX boss.
One visually confusing element I should clarify: after the train hit Winbee, I kept dying and not knowing why it was happening. I was actually getting crushed by the scrolling from failing to follow Winbee's path of destruction through the bridge obstacles. So when the train hits Winbee, that's your cue to get behind her and weave through the bridges.
Anyone know if the bells do anything? Couldn't get them to match a single color.

Really? I thought WinBee was by far the easiest of the EX bosses.Estebang wrote:The return of Pastel and Winbee doesn't hurt either, and they're by far the toughest EX boss.
