Galaga Remakes
I've been looking with pleasure at Galaga Legions and was wondering if there were any superboosted psychedelic Galaga remakes for PC.
The closest I've come up with so far is Warblade but there must be something a bit more intense surely?
Any suggestions?

Check out Namco Classics Collection Vol. 1 in MAME. It has Galaga Arrange that should fit your needs.

Namco Museum Battle Collection for the PSP has Galaga Arrangement '05, which is a 2.5D remake of the Namco Classics Collection release. It is also ported to the IPhone in the form of Galaga Remix.

THE sickest, most awesome Galaga clone I've ever played is Galamos Arrangement (ギャラモス-アレンジメント-). You don't see much if any info on this game. Liked it so much I had to get a physical copy. You can get a trial version here:

Some pics here (larger pics on the Amazon site). Pics don't do it justice, you have to see the craziness in motion. You have a standard shot, spray shot and a vacuum bomb. Bullets and enemies flying all over too, fortunately your ship has enough speed to dodge.

The Galaga 25th Anniversary collection for iThings is absolutely superb. Subtly updated versions of Galaxian, Galaga, Gaplus and Galaga '88.

Got so excited about this that I've recklessly installed Optimedia ad-supported versions of Galamoss and Galamoss Arrange like a crazy fool
Arrange doesn't like my video card and will only give me 20fps tops (apparently a known issue) but original Galamoss (which is vertizontal fullscreen and seems a better game than arrange anyways) runs perfectly.
You're right- Galamoss is awesome. It shouild be obligatory to play it

Re: Galaga Remakes
i think the main app usually is which gives you Galaxian, but the other games are an IAP at £4.99. Some find that steep, I think they're more than worth it.emphatic wrote:And it's currently free!Marc wrote:The Galaga 25th Anniversary collection for iThings is absolutely superb. Cosmo Gang : The Video
is like an easier, weirder Galaga '88 and well worth a play.
On SNES and Arcade.

Re: Galaga Remakes
does this mean, that arrange has tate-mode ?! and what with this video-card-issue (& how to overcome this?) - on my pc the demo only shows a black screen?mjclark wrote:[...]Arrange doesn't like my video card and will only give me 20fps tops (apparently a known issue) but original Galamoss (which is vertizontal fullscreen [...]
I would really like to try (and probably buy) this game if it's possible to run in tate & at constant 60fps, though not interessted in a vertizontal at all...

Re: Galaga Remakes
There's no tate mode sorry to say- the problem is that Arrange will only run at 20fps on either of my machines with nVidia cards.lewisit wrote: I would really like to try (and probably buy) this game if it's possible to run in tate & at constant 60fps, though not interessted in a vertizontal at all...
Will do a bit more research though cos I'd like to see it at 60fps.
