Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

WTF you would want to buy a HD console and bang it through a SD target is another topic of conversation surely!

That would be worse than having Mega Fox as a girlfriend and being blind, deaf and dumb. :P Totally useless.

It inputs games
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

hm. is it right that the adapter used for the scart cables is also compatible with ps2 cables? could i use my ps2 rgb scart on a ps3?
Elixir wrote:too bad it doesn't output games
yeah. i think i just went with a ps3 in the end because of the flexibity that comes with a region-free console.

The old fat PS3 with the choice of an 20 GB HDD or 60 GB HDD (circa 2006) outputs in both Standard Definition & HD as well. It seemed that the internal cooling fan on the old fat PS3s didn't seem adequate enough to cool off the the hot CPU...I'd always have it standing on it's side to ensure the heat would vacate quickly. It was quite notorious for heating up a small room (with the door closed) during the winter time if left on for several hours.

All PS3 will output lower resolution (480i), the only potential problem is that no PS3 will output 480i via HDMI. This option will always be disabled when using an HDMI cable for video.

ok, got this. is anybody else actually using a european ps3 and playing on a crt?

because i'm kinda confused here. are games optimized for pal output and play the same as on a ntsc console? as i set up the system with the rgb cable hooked everything started out looking green, and when i changed settings to scart-rgb it turned black/white (edit: ok, my bad. the default theme was just the grey one). when i put a game in i got color (thank god), and it appears all i got is letterboxed widescreen, so there appear to be no pal bars (thank god again).

still wondering if games run at 100% speeed though.

edit: yeah this runs definitely slower than it's intended. any way i can switch to ntsc 60hz output?
edot2: seems like it doesn't support ntsc at all. what is this, the 90s?

Sony is involved. Therefore, it is and always will be, 1986.

Of course they run at full speed.

Also, the PAL PS3 outputs 576i, not 480i. It'll be PAL60.
