This probably doesn't belong here but I'll ask anyways to see if anyone else has this problem. My monitor keeps blacking out randomly for like a second when its hooked up to my Xbox 360 via VGA. It is very intermittent and not consistent. I'm using a third party cable and the store I bought it from suggests that it's my monitor freaking out and not the cable, though it could be just be them trying to keep me from selling it.
Has anyone had this issue before? Any ideas on how to fix it? I'm gonna check today and see if it's a cable issue, but if it's not, any way to make it so my monitor doesn't randomly black out like that?
Monitor blacking out during play
Re: Monitor blacking out during play
Blast City? If so, it's a sync incompatibility IIRC. A sync cleaner is needed.ratikal wrote:This probably doesn't belong here but I'll ask anyways to see if anyone else has this problem. Re: Monitor blacking out during play
Sorry, I should've mentioned. It's a Samsung Syncmaster 2494HM 24", at least I think so. They mentioned that it could be a problem that the monitor is not keeping up. It's refresh rate is 65.6MHz and I'm pretty sure the 360 broadcasts at 60Mhz (talking out of my ass here). Could that be a reason why?

yes, you do and no it can't.(talking out of my ass here). Could that be a reason why?
Which output resolution are you using ? Have you tried using a different resolution to see if the problem persists ?
Re: Monitor blacking out during play
Rebumping this because it's happening again.
what I did before was move my 360 closer to my monitor and it worked without any problems but now that I am at home, it's giving me the same issues again. Could it be possible that there is interference somehow? I do have a lot of wires running everywhere. I have tried this on other monitors without any problems so I know its not the wire, but like I've said before, I used this monitor where the 360 was closer to it, without any problems.
I currently have my 360 as close as it can be to the monitor and my TATE TV (about 2-4 feet away from the monitor). Does anyone know what is happening that is causing my monitor to black out?
