yeah, i played a lot of dash(turbo) and i love 3rd strike and super turbo.

right now i play a lot of 3rd strike, super turbo(aniversary) an ggxx#r. I can't say enough good things about the ggxx stuff. i loves me some guilty gear. i also dabble in vf4evo and some tekken. mostly tekken tag but i did get into 5 for a little while. i absolutly hate dead or alive.

i used to play a LOT of cvs2 and alpha 3 as well. i think i will always have a place in my heart for cvs2, even though it sucks.

and of course i love the EX series like crazy. i love you arika. with all my little monkey heart.

i am into kof a little, mostly neowave, i will definetly buy that when it comes out on the xbox and samurai showdown v will be on that too, too bad it sucks.

anyway, characters i play seriously
3rd strike: hugo/twelve
super turbo: blanka/honda
ggxx: testament
vf4: shun di
tekken series: KING
ex: darun, ryu...man i love ex...

I don't play a lot of fighters actually, but I do enjoy them very much. I guess like shooters and platformers more though...
Anyway, I like Treasure's Yu Yu Hakusho Makyotohissen a lot. Shows originality on all points (graphics, music, combos, system etc), and the 4-player mode is very exciting!

yeah i have heard a lot about that. i would actually like to see treasure make a fighting game on an original frachise, so they can just go crazy. i think about 3 games in they would have a solid game. i actually like GH advance a lot and played the vs portions a whole bunch. luckily they are working on the DS bleach fighting game...we'll see what they come up with.

I love 2D fighting games! Mostly for the Saturn and Dreamcast - tons of NeoGeo ports and Capcom ports... I love them all... my fav is Saturn Street Fighter Zero 2 Dash (the update to SFZ2 on the SF-Collection pack). I also love SFZ1 and SFZ3 and I even have SFZ2 without the "tweaks" of SFZ2-Dash and sometimes play that just for fun. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is also one of my favs ... blew way too many quarters on this in the arcades. I'm also a big fan of Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior (I prefer Hunter only because I've played it so much before I ever laid my hands on Savior). Both the Vampire games are underrated Capcom fighting classics. I also dig the SF3-Double Impact set and SF3:TS.

For non-Capcom games... I like Samurai Showdown IV, King of Fighters 97, 98 and 2002. Last Blade 2 and Garou:MOTW are also great.

I've become a bit of a Namco fanboy. Yeah, their games aren't the best balanced in all the land, but I firmly believe that there's more than enough psychology involved to make up for it at the level I play at (scrub w/experience).

I love Tekken and Soul Calibur2. My favorite characters are Paul, Lei Wulong, Jin and the Mishimas in Tekken, and Raphael, Astaroth, Talim, Voldo and Ivy in SC2

Tis been a lonely time since my friends got bored with the games (and since several of them discovered EQ). I pine for fighting games with online capability.

I don't play fighters very seriously, but I can have some fun with them just playing casually with some friends or whatnot. I especially like "goofy" fighters (Dan Hibiki is my all-time favorite character, though you probably could have guessed that ), since "hardcore" fighting gamers take themselves and their "craft" even more seriosuly than hardcore shmuppers do, by and large..."sacrilegious" stuff like Waku Waku 7 which drives them up a wall is my favorite kinda thing, heh.

After playing SFA3 a few hours a day since last October, I'm mostly playing SF2': Hyper Fighting and sucking...getting better though. SF2 on mame, I have every port of SFA3 however. I like Vampire Saviour, I have it on Saturn and at some point PS2. I have Xmen vs. Streetfighter on Saturn but that's just for shits and giggles. Same with Samurai Shodown 3+4.

I had VF4 for PS2 for a long time and VF2 for Saturn but I don't really 'get it.'

I used to play more fighting games, but if I play now, it's Real Bout Fatal Fury II. I can definitely recommend it, it's SNK's best beat'em up imo.

I could never get into the RealBout Series it'd the button layout that puts me off, I cant seem to get having only 3 attack buttons and a whole button dedicated to dodge.

A+B=Punch and Kick
C=Power Attacks
D=Dodge

You dont really need 4 attack buttons I know, but I think I'm just used to having individual attack buttons as I used to that standard layout 4 for most SNK games
or 6 buttons for StreetFighter.

Let's rock
Guilty Gear rules

I like the sequel to seiku enbu (Dark Legend) for Saturn/ST-V
It's called fuun Saiki and features two characters from Fighters History.
It strangely enough was not released in the arcade or so I'm told and it rocks. It fixes the sluggish controls of the first one. Great music. Crazy combos.

Most underrated fighter.

Playing lots of Capcom offcourse. I have all Dreamcast & Saturn fighters.

Y'all know about Jojo right?
OK

I like arcade games in general. All arcade games. Fast paced 100% gameplay experiences.

I'm the King of Fighters!

OK, not really. But I do play a lot. In particular, only about four. I play more on Kawaks on the computer, mostly NeoGeo stuff.

The fighters I own are:

Street Fighter - Anniversary Collection: Mainly just for Hyper Fighting and Super Turbo. I've been picking up Balrog in HF and I play as Dee Jay in ST. I do play Third Strike though. Don't like it as much as ST, but I play as Dudley (and still can't get parrying down =/ )

Capcom vs SNK 2: I had to whine a lot to get this one. And it was worth it (arcade perfect, or damn near close to it). I've actually been experimenting with characters for a team -- thinking of Guile/Athena/Terry, or something.

Guilty Gear XX: Got it off Ebay for Christmas. It's the PS2 version, as usual, so it's not exactly arcade perfect, but there's not enough changes from the arcade version to make this one completely different. Unless you count damned bite loop scrubs. But either way, I've actually been picking up Zappa and Millia/Eddie, trying out other characters. Been interested in Ky.

On Kawaks I usually play stuff like Waku Waku 7 and Last Blade (albeit terribly) but I will play the occasional round of Marvel vs Capcom or X-Men vs Street Fighter.

edit: I completely forgot Soul Calibur 2. I ought to get the PS2 version (used to have Gamecube version). Except I don't like the secret characters. Especially Link...man, Link sucked. Bad. Like almost as bad as Yunsung. Eh. Just pro talk coming from a scrub. Either way, I play a crappy Cervantes.

edit (again): And, once again, I forget about Super Smash Bros. Melee. This is probably the one I'm best at, I've got a tournament tomorrow (or was it today)? I play as Dr. Mario, but I'll need to retire until I get a Revolution. Mainly because our Gamecube broke and we have to sell it. >.>;

anyone play any fighters destiny 1 or two on the n64? i played a lot of those. they wern't half bad, amaturish but fun. i also playe da lot of mace on the n64 hahahah.. anyway, for handhelds i go for motm(ngpc), alpha 3(gba), st(gba), fatal fury special(gamegear), kof neo blood 2(gba) was great, and my secret portable lover, duel blades.(gba) i shit you not. that game is great. i am buddies with the cat that made it. anyway, the gba fighters are the bigest reason that the ds not supporting gba wireless makes me ahte nintendo's retarded logic....i so wish i could play duel blades on the ds against other people hahha. nintendo needs to release a ds with upgradable shell features, like psp...it needs web browsing, calculators...all kinds of stuff...gba peer to peer online gaming....

Well, I love fighters. After shmups they're my my favourite type of game and my collection of fighters is pretty huge. Thing is though, I'm absolutley shit at them.

Mostly playing Guilty Gear X2, Capcom vs SNK 2 and King of Fighters 2002 at the moment.

What's Mark of the Wolves like on the PS2? I've played my mates Dreamcast version and it's fucking phenominal but it's getting pretty hard to find.

I'm the Virtua fighter 2 master, I still feel its the best fighter ever made soo well balanced.

I have

vampire chronicles, guilty gear X, capcom vs snk, streey fighter 3 3rd strike, marvel vs capcom 2, garou mark of the wolves, alpha 3, projectjustice on the DC and super street fighter 2 ex for matching service.

Sol bad guy is my fave guilty player
guile in street fighter just love jumping in uppercut flash kick
Virtua fighter jacky is the man sarahs probably the best fighter though.

Who do you guys think is better as a boss?

Bison Rugal or Geese? My moneys on Geese.

Street Fighter 2 dash (IE championship edition) got mentioned early on and I am glad to see it getting noted. I loved this game to death since it is really everything the original world warrior should be, and what so many 'upgrades' in fighters aren't. In short, everything that really needed to be changed in world warrior was fixed, and many aspects were improved. This was the first fighter where you could play two versions of the same character against each other, it was the first street fighter to let you play as a boss, and almost every character had their moves altered in some slightly more useful way (except for poor guile).

For me, Champion Edition and Super Turbo (two very different games) sum up the very best of street fighter, with 'dash' capturing the original flavor of the series perfectly, and super turbo pointing the direction toward future series. Definitely two of the best fighting games ever made.

Too bad the PCE Dash never made it to the US. I like how the Turbo home versions on SNES and Genesis have both dash and turbo mode. I remember reading in a magazine about some of the endings being censored in some of the US versions of Street Fighter II games. Is this true? If so, what exactly was censored?

All of the sf2 games are playable on the saturn, so there's really no need to bother with pce or snes versions. Not to knock them, but the saturn ports are obviously as close to arcade perfect as anyone is going to bother, and of course has the best controller ever made (!) This is the way to play SF2 et al., or you could hold out for the Capcom love-in pack that keeps threatening to show up.

I don't know anything about the edited endings. Although it wasn't like sf2 was ever about the story anyway. Haha! Once when I was playing sf2 CE, I managed to accidentally trigger Ken's wedding music at the end of a match. You know: "You win!" and then the wedding music played. hahahahaha...

I suspect, since visuals wouldn't be a problem for either console, that the PSX ports are better due to sound.

Then again, the ST ports suck. Difficulty 8 on those is like 1 in the arcade. PCB is the way to go for super turbo.
