If you mean Shmupmame, you can find the builds at shmupmame.wordpress.com.
As for MAME Plus! itself, I got it via EmuCR which someone had linked to on the TCFC thread. Here's hoping you have better luck Googling those.

Hey, just picked up a EX-SE and was curious as to what shmups, shmup mame 3.0 removes ALL frames of lag for?
I looked around and heard Ketsui & DDP DOJ/BL had 1 frame of lag before and 0 frames of lag now.
Can anyone confirm this? Do any other STG's have 0 lag now too? Is there a list of frames of lag anywhere?
Awesome forum btw, long time lurker. Just registered.

"Break" - or curse it what. My friend, read my post on the previous page.
You will find it lagless, or at least lagless enough.

Thanks, was kinda hoping the Fighters series was.
Arcade Legends 3; Thanks for referring me to that too, i've never heard of that build of mame before. I'll have a little mess around in a bit.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
so I finally fixed the "0xC0000005 error" by removing my Comodo Internet Security program; shmupmame is working again. i'd suggest removing programs working within AV/malware jurisdictions as a test.
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
after some windows update 2 days ago, no more 0x500 errors using shmupmame 3b.
It is to us a sufficient body in which, fairies and it is packed and can group of play.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
Sounds like Microsoft tried to put in something for 32-bit support and it half-worked. Anyone know of a changelog of Microsoft updates to Windows 7? I tried their support website and couldn't find anything.
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
Still won't work for me.
I don't get why Microshit has the gall to update Windows and break this. I wish there was a better solution or at least an update that would fix this damn error.

Thanks for this fantastic MAME version. The only thing, that is a little bit uncomfortable is the use of MAME 99 ROMs.
Would it be a solution to build Shmupmame from CabMAME? It supposts Cleanstretch, a Soundhack and more.

I just discovered shmupmame and man, it really makes a difference. Games feel more responsive now and I have even more pleasure playing. I'm using version 3.0b and I have no music in Batsugun, is it because back in mame ver 0.99 it wasn't emulated yet, or am I missing something else ?

Whenever I try to open a game, a black window opens as if the game is loading, just for a second then closes. I cannot run any games, does any one know what I should do?
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
didnt want to open a thread for this so here seems a good place to ask.
Is salamander 2 running 100% or is my computer too crappy to run it?
Haven't tried on shmupmame 3.0 I think yet but I couldn't get the 100% speed right.
edit:it looks like it's working fine for me now.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
I’ve got still 4 frames lag at Galaga88, but only 1 and 0 frames lag at various Cave games. Is this normal?
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
Shmupmame v.3b fails to start for me, and always has (I neglected to post about it until now). It crashes right on startup and gives a dialog box (the "click OK" type) spitting out this message:
Looking about the 'net indicates it's an access violation. I have DEP on, but it doesn't seem to be that (it crashes even when I add mame32p.exe as an exception to DEP). I've got Windows 7 64-bit.
Code: Select all
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click
OK to close the application.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
That's known, and has had about over 9000 people including myself report it, and while the obvious solution of porting the lagless drivers to WolfMAME Plus! 0.99 which doesn't spit the error has been known for some time Nimitz hasn't acted on it. To put it bluntly and simply: you're screwed, and can't do anything on your end about it.Ed Oscuro wrote:Shmupmame v.3b fails to start for me, and always has (I neglected to post about it until now). If you're up for grasping at straws though, try running Windows Update as apparently some people managed to get it from that error to some other problem by doing so.
Do the newer versions of MAME do the same thing? If so, consider updating your graphics drivers.Throsh wrote:Whenever I try to open a game, a black window opens as if the game is loading, just for a second then closes. I cannot run any games, does any one know what I should do?
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
I'm sure Windows Update isn't going to help, but I'm always down for looking for driver updates. Heh. Thanks for the super-fast and accurate response!
The latest MAME Plus! is making me pretty happy at any rate.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
No worries, man. Repaying the favour.
I only mention Windows Update because that's what some people have found. Sometimes an update will happen and the emulator will still give the error and other updates make it work but then crash with something else. If you're looking for a lagless alternative v2.2 (or 2.0 if you can find it and want better performance, 2.2 is a goddamn hog) should cover most of your needs short of Batrider and co.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
I've had vers. 2 and 2.2 since they came out; I'm just disappointed because there's no lagless alternatives for Strahl (not that it seems necessary, but it would be nice at any rate) and other games, which use less-accurate drivers in those older versions.
The root cause of this can't be laid on ole Nimitz anyhow, it's really up to the MAME team to recall that input responsiveness goes in hand with accuracy
I wonder how much backporting could "fix" the newer drivers, or if it's even possible to reconcile the two driver paths at this point.

A valid point, however by the rule of programmer's morals, it's his fork which is broken which he isn't fixing therefore it makes him look bad, and as you might've noticed this thread is now chockablock full of people asking for help and no answers. It'd be nice to hear something from him regarding the issues once in a while, even a "sorry I'm not touching this ever again" or "no its not dead but I've been busy for the last year dont hate me bro".Ed Oscuro wrote: The root cause of this can't be laid on ole Nimitz anyhow, it's really up to the MAME team to recall that input responsiveness goes in hand with accuracyI wonder how much backporting could "fix" the newer drivers, or if it's even possible to reconcile the two driver paths at this point.
On the MAMEdev angle, Haze has already made it clear that he thinks regarding the responsiveness of the controls of MAME. With the exception of drivers which have had terrible inputs (as in inputs that don't actually work and get fixed/implemented) it's looking very unlikely there'll be any official change by MAMEdev that will result in less delay in the inputs without the hacks that's being used here.
It's also been stated several times before in this thread that 32-bit machines don't have this issue. I've run v3.0b on school computers with Windows 7 with no issues until I started trying out the 64-bit versions. If you had XP installed on the computer, however, it'd probably work since it'd be running in 32-bit mode.Cagar wrote:****! I've played ketsui for weeks now with shmupmame 3.0, I restarted my computer yesterday AND IT NO LONGER WORKS. Same "click OK" error here.
I didn't download any drivers or uninstall anti-viruses, only restarted computer. Strange... Oh and by the way, it works like a charm at my school with all computers (and they really have different specs), the only same thing about these is that they're all 32-bit win 7.
Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
anybody has tried MAME 0.145?
There are great improvements of display timings. The whole gameplay of games has changed
I wonder if it's better than shmupmame now

Re: Shmupmame v3.0b, Lagless Batrider, Garegga and Bakraid
I've tried it. Didn't notice any difference in input delay. Couldn't find any mention of the display timings getting changed browsing through the GIT or MAME's readme either, though I'd put that down to a bit of miswording and me looking for the wrong words or something.
