Vita will be a failure. Handhelds aren't exactly requiring nextgen upgrades. The best and most plausible route to success for a handheld is to make one that does what the ipad does, but perhaps make the interface for gaming a little more traditional. I'm only in for Vita if it comes with 3G, great internet browser, has skype, doubles up as a walkman thingy and they release Mr driller. Then I can happily stick with £10 Pay as you go mobile phones.

It probably does all that stuff, but I ain't been interested enough to warrant a peruse yet.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

So that we can play shite like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja with traditional controls.

I'm in for Ys Celceta. I will buy the game as soon as it is released, but will probably wait on the hardware until I can buy a 2nd-hand system for a $100-150.

If no variables are changed, the result will always be the same.
With some probability, typically 95% or 99%. But I guess this is more for studies involving human subjects...

Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 announced for Vita: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqVI4P6I3JQ

I like the original games, but I'm incapable of being excited for the ports and this handheld in general. I mean, fuck, just play Wipeout and ZOE games on their original systems. You won't have to deal with a bullshit small screen. Is it neat, though? Yes of course it's neat. For like five hours. Sorry for the hate, I just don't see myself throwing money away for this. Maybe when I was younger and more easily impressed I would have. (Actually, I KNOW I would have.)

However, there is one condition that would make me change my mind. That is of course if a bunch of awesome EXCLUSIVE little import games are released, which would give me no other choice but to get the Vita to play them. Now THAT would be exciting. I want to relive the joy of walking into a Fry's Electronics DS section and seeing Jump Super Stars in the import bin. You know, the same kind of feeling when you came across an obscure Japanese Dreamcast game for the first time? 8) If it's just stupid rehashes of previously made games, then Sony can straight up fist itself if it thinks for a moment that this motherfucker right here is going to give them one more sale.

Nintendo seems to be having quite an influence on its competitors...touch screen and all.
PSPGo fo lyfe!!
That has to have the shittiest D pad in the history of gaming hardware. Whoever designed it deserves a swift kick in the nads. The shoulder buttons for Go and the original model irk me as well. I love all of the PSP sticks, though. So smooth...

One more small thing you may or may not care about - it appears that there will be no physical manuals included with Vita games.

EDIT: Perhaps I spoke a bit too soon - this article seems to suggest it's up to the publishers whether they include one or stick to digital.

RedSunGamer bought a whole bunch of Vitas plus a whole bunch of games. Even Dream Club Zero. I've no idea why. It was pretty funny to watch.

Looks like PS Vita's PSP mode has been hacked already. Good news, that means you won't have to rebuy any old PSP games to play them on Vita.

Personal interest in PS Vita rising...
