It might just flop as an idea, but you never know! If they think enough of us lot, maybe we could get and interview done for this specific audience. I'll give it a go...
I was thinking along these lines as well, as this forum probably contains their largest collection of western fans, with interest in both past and present titles, so it would be a great service to this particular fanbase. If things flop, then at least we tried. If they seem willing, how funny would it be if as an alternative to email, we sent one of our remote correspondents (Rancor or GaijinPunch) to visit their office for a live interview. Maybe that would show them how serious we are about getting this interview!

I might suggest you open a separate thread to collect questions and then select the best ones (from your journalistic standpoint ) for submitting to Cave. I'll resubmit mine with a little less satire.

I'm up for it.

I would of course bring my Japanese friend who is a professional translator by trade. I wouldn't want to miss a bit of what they have to say due to my own lack of ability. Transcript / audio would be posted as well in case anyone wanted to make any "tweaks".

If they are in doubt what shmups forum is (as is likely), they can ask Rising Star for confirmation about this forum's importance. After all RS seems to be following this forum, so they would be happy to give reference.

There's someone working at CAVE that knows about this forum for a long time. If that's a good thing... I don't know.

This is all sounding good. I'm very very busy at work right now, but I'll do my best to make this happen.

Certainly, we can collective come up with some questions in a separate thread.

They aren't going to want to answer it, but it needs to be straightforwardly asked whether they have any plans for another arcade shmup, and what hardware it would be on. I see Mushi Matsuri as having been the SH3's swan song.

Some further digging as to the nature of the Vita shmup, too. They already hinted at it being Akai Katana.

MAME should not be brought up; they wouldn't appreciate such a gesture.

They absolutely need to be pressed about why they haven't patched important bugs in some recent releases, such as MMP & PS and Guwange.

Cool pic of the Vewlix with a Cave shmup PCB up & running (and a shot of those six mini Tamiya 4WD cars are ace as well -- they were first introduced in the USA back in 1990). I have fond memories of putting together a Tamiya mini Avante 4WD car back in the day. Drop in a modified Mabuchi motor, change the gearing for all-out speed, add some optional ball bearings & smoke the competition easily.

You might recall Tamiya's lineup of their "Fully Cowled Mini 4WD series" of cars back in the early 1990s. Even Bandai jumped on the mini 4WD car fad with their own cars (but had the extra option of selecting either 2WD drive or full-time 4WD "on the fly" whereas Tamiya mini 4WD cars didn't have that upgraded option whatsoever as they were considered full-time 4WD spec cars).
