I'm suprised about all this crash talk. My 4th gen ipod hasn't crashed yet, even with wi-fi enabled. Doesn't even crash on leadboards or achievements menus. Might be a iOS 5 issue because I am running 4.2.
What are you trying to tell me, that I can dodge bullets?

Yeah, that´s the most likely case. On iOS 4 almost nothing ever crashed, on iOS 5 crashes are quite a lot more frequent. "It just works", except when it doesn´t.

Played it about two hours yesterday-

No crashes, just really long loading screens. I have an iPhone 4 version 4.3.5.

What routes are people going with weapons? Red for the stage and Blue for the boss?
Stage 3 is really cool!

Got this last night, and so far I've been having a bit of trouble getting it to work on my iPad 1. Got stuck on the "Now Loading" screen the first time I tried to run it, the second time it crashed just before starting the game, and the third time I was able to play a game (which worked reasonably well) but hung on the "now loading" screen again after the game ended.

Based on my experience with iOS app testing, it's probably a memory issue.

My only complaint right now is that the tracers seem to lag and have a choppy animation. Anyone else expereincing this?

Tracers lag for me and I have choppy animation but I kinda blame that on my iPod touch 3rd gen.

I also feel like the bullets are kinda hard to see in this one, at least for me. I have a much easier time seeing them in Dodonpachi Ressurection and Espgaluda II. It could be because the background scrolling isn't as smooth or because I'm playing on an old iPod. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I feel like they might be easier to see on a new iOS device and definitely on an iPad.

Game feels buttah smooth for me. Just had a quick 1CC of the Original (which unlocked Maniac) but the first time I launched the game, it crashed in the options menu (when I turned voices OFF).

Edit: iPhone 4, iOS 5.01 with WiFi "on".

How is the game slowdown-wise? Far superior to the ps2 port I assume?

Cave stated in their app description that this game is a memory hog, so I did a clean restart and it was fine in my old iPad.

Sometimes the bullets have a "wavy" feeling to them, almost of all the bullet designs seem watery and wobbly to me, maybe it has something to do with that? On a pure graphical level I´m having to visibility problems at all, the game runs absolutely smooth (when it isn´t crashing), which is helping a lot. However, especially in Ultra the bullets tend to get very small - I personally prefer the huge ones like in the stage 1 "flower" bosses instead of the flickery small ones from the Ultra stage 1 boss.

Hopefully they will relase an update soon, judging from the overall feedback in this thread it seems like the have a lot of - wait for it - BUGS TO SQUASH!!! hahahahahahahahahahaha

Anyways, I´m surprised how different the bullets behave in this game, unlike any other Cave series - these huge clusters of bullets that are all directly aimed at you, it´s seems a lot more "aim-heavy" then in other games, it gives it a really nice flow.

I'unno, this is easily the best iOS release they've done. You're right about the bugs, and I'm sure they will be fixed.

Tons of crashes on my itouch 4. Disabling wifi so openfeint can't connect seems to help, but not 100%.

I have faith they'll path it though, they've supported their other releases well.

Crashed a few times for me on iPad1, but just since then i've cleared original and maniac without any issues. Time for some Ultra! Using fullscreen on the iPad was a little blurrier than I was hoping for, probably go back to medium default setting.

Very happy with this, I always thought mushi would be perfect for iOS since it is mostly just dodge and shoot. I like holding down the button for options and keeping autofire on.

Now my top 3 cave games are mobile :D

iPad 1 - played two games, both crashed during the 3rd stage end boss.

I have the PCB - am I imagining things or is the sound track altered and some of the boss bullet patterns?

The patterns were tweaked between revisions so it's probably based on the last one (2004/10/12.Master Ver.) which is rare. You probably have the first version board (2004/10/12 Master Ver) which is by far the most common. I don't know about the sound because I don't have an iAnything.

This is the first app that has ever crashed my iPad. It caused it to lock and reboot.

iOS 5.0 on iPhone 4 for me. The game seems to run really smooth for me although there can be quite long loading screens sometimes.

iPad1, mostly works fine, although runs at 30 fps instead of the normal 60.

New member here!

Im a big fan of Cave and shmups in general. I previously own DDPR, ESpgaluda II and Deahsmiles on iOS.

Got this baby yesterday and here's my thoughts after 1 day playing on my iPhone 3Gs.

+ Cave seems to have put in some more effort to adapt the game to the iPhones native resolution. The menus look much sharper and cleaner this time around.
+ Some very nice graphical moments! The 1st boss is huge and the stage that plays out on the back of a giant larva is very well done!

- Sound/music sounds a little muddy. (22Khz mono?)
- Frame rate seems inferior compared to DDPR. The bullets just doesnt travel as smooth if you compare both games.
- My initial impression is that Bug Princess is more straight forward and lacks strategic depth compared to DDPR and ESP2.
- The graphics, allthough great, are not as amazingly deatailed as ESPII. Compare the two and Bug Princess stages looks a little plain.

= Its a great game, but i dont think i touches either DDPR och ESPII so get those first if you have'nt.

Oh, and it crashed on me too on the course select screen.

Im afraid to update my 4 (not S) to iOS5---but Carcassonne wont run after the latest update on my iOS4, so it may be that I have to......just was worried at all the naysaying here -- seemed like people not running iOS5 were having less difficulty

I have a 4S, and the game ran fine for me. Only gripe would be the long loading screens. I suspect they can improve the loading and memory/crashing problems a bit with some time.

I wonder if they tried to rush this one out before Christmas.

Anyway, I beat the game on Original/Hard twice last night. Lot of fun. Also tried a credit on Maniac/Hard, but didn't do so well. Despite the lack of an exclusive mode, I think this is probably their most accessible, fun, and well-rounded release.

Is the iphones equivelant of SAT (toggling the shot button) still effective for score hogging with the right timing?

Downloaded this and it's crashed before the app installed. The icon is just frozen on 100% install and I can't click it. :?

I know it's called 'bug' princess, but this is ridiculous.
