Being able to understand the endings make this a good port as well. I could kinda understand Tateha's and Seseri's endings, but was lost for Asagi's and Ageha's. Asagi's ending got a bit emo, but wasn't whiny. Ageha's ending comes off as valid grief before Tateha comes, and Tateha's ending is possibly too hopeful.
I should've guessed being released in English as well has the story translated. Is there a full script online somewhere? I've been curious about the endings for a while...
I just have to agree with most people that the iPhone/iTouch version is surprisingly enjoyable!
I've been playing it on the iPad, which really benefits from the extra real estate. The game looks good even when expanded to fill up the bigger screen. Still, I'm hoping that Cave will be able to release an iPad specific version at some point to take advantage of the better specs.
Actually they've said that the bug panic game was just their first experimental game to see what they can do on the iphone, and there is going to be a new release soon.

Gaiden's been out for a little while, hasn't it? No, this new release is probably more like Espgaluda II here.
Does hard mode only add more bullets at the bosses? I imagine it's probably essential to milking them properly, but I've been sticking with Normal for now since it's tough to dodge the full boss patterns on the small screen.
bought this when it came out and was on offer regardless of the fact i don't have the right equipment to play it just yet.
Played on a friends 3GS though, good lord this really is top quality stuff.
I am trying to hold off until the 4Gs get here, but a Futari port would help push me even close on this.
Fantastic stuff.
"I've asked 2 experts on taking RGB screenshots...."
For any (32/64GB anyway) Touch owners, it is all working now
Though they've not dropped the price back down to what it was on release, which is a bit inconsiderate...
Glad I 'bought' it earlier..
I got this not to long ago and I find it to be an enjoyable portable shooter experiance. My friend felt the touchscreen provided more precise control than other options. I didn't argue with him and let him have his fun.
reviewer doesn't seem to fully understand the scoring and the main page link to the review is art from futari, but still 9/10 from a mainstream site is good stuff.

I have almost laugh to death when I saw Recco and the words Epsgaluda II. This shows the minimum level of interest by the reviewer.
I tried the game and it is lot of fun. However the character deplaces too quickly in the screen. That makes the gameplay feel a bit strange.
So you people play this with both thumbs, right? Like as if holding a GBA SP?
The only times I actually dabbled with an iOS device was my brothers iPhone, so I have nearly zero touchscreen gaming experience. On the Cave Mobile YouTube channel they mostly use their index fingers, though I´d imagine that´s only for demonstration purposes, with the iPhone lying down.
I´m still really looking forward to finally getting an iPod Touch, however I still find it difficult to believe these games run as smooth as the originals. Are there any differences at all (both EspII and DFK)? In some videos the explosions seem slowed down or lacking frames - maybe that´s just bad video capture or whatever.
Oh, and are there any performance differences between the 3rd and 4th generation iPods / 3GS vs iPhone 4?
And another thing - what is the original SH3 resolution? I looked at the hardware details at World Of Arcades, but it doesn´t mention the actual resolution anywhere.

Nope.
Anyway, ESPGALUDA II HD for iPad 2 is out now. I had a quick run through arcade mode last night. Did the iDevice version of this game always have no slowdown? Because zetsushikai with no slowdown whatsoever is pretty hilarious - it's sort of like watching those time-lapse videos of flowers blooming, except those flowers can kill you.
It's on sale for the next three or so days. Both the new HD version and the original have been split into three - the "full" package containing both modes, and two smaller packages containing only arcade and the re-christened "smartphone mode" each.
Been playing this game a lot while on the bus/train. The only problems are when there is a big bump, sudden stop, or someone bumps into me. That's mainly when I get killed. oh well, haha. Only at 135 million now. I plan to double or triple that this weekend.
LOVE this game... bought it when it first came out for a couple bucks on sale.. most time I spent playing any iPhone game for sure. It somehow really works well with the touchscreen.. they nailed the controls, sensitivity.. game is so fluid. Does drain my battery FAST though.. can't play it much away from home or work in case I actually need to use my phone for something important
MR_Soren wrote:Love this game! Was wondering how to get multiplier to 500 in arcade mode? Any tips?
You have to use Zetsushikai (hold Kakusei instead of tapping, drains both gems and gold, you probably have to be using expert controls). The strategy thread still applies, though it still has the old "Zesshikai" misread.
Yeah, that's been my problem, couldn't get the "hold down" version of awakening mode to work. Maybe expert controls will do the trick. Thanks!
EDIT: Yes, that worked. The screen flashes white for a moment when this mode activates. I could not get it to work with simple controls, but I was able to do it with both Normal and Expert controls. It also appears you need to level up your "Awakening Over" mode before this will work. EDITEDIT: Or that was simply a matter of me needing gold.
