Cave SH3 Hardware Status LEDs

Post by XianXi »

Does anyone know what the status LEDs mean. I've got a Pink Sweets that does the normal D6 then the screen flashes for a split second like it's going to boot and then a black screen and D2 and D4 light up. Tried every trick and nothing gets this board to boot.

When I first got the board it worked intermittently. When I first hooked it up it worked 20/20 times then I left it off overnight and next until now it never booted again. Been about a month now. Tried replacing the RTC battery and also tried the re-initialize trick with no success. All chips getting +5.01v at the board, even tried 5.1v and no change.

It's got me ripping my hair out. Someone out there has to know besides Cave what these lights mean.

On my Ibara PCB, if the RTC battery dies, it keeps going back to default clock settings at 12:00:00AM (and will continue to do so until the battery is replaced with a new one - then correct timekeeping + day/month/year settings are kept in check as well). Upon boot up, it does display the usual four LED flashes and proceeds to load up the game. It's all cool from intial boot up to the copyright screen & finally the main title screen appears -- works like a charm.

Sounds like the ol' Pink Sweets PCB needs to be taken in for service/repairs...Cave will charge a bit to fix them though. It's a given.
