I just got a new LG 55LW6500 passive 3d lcd led back lit tv.
I replace my 6+ year old Samsung DLP.
Now my major disappointment it does not work with the LG.
I get an invalid format error on the VGA input.
If I have just the XRGB on you can see the menu screens , soon I power on a system Ill see a flash of the image then it goes right to Invalid format…
I tried two VGA to HDMI converts hoping they would get around the picky VGA input on the LG still no luck. Same behavior just on a the HDMI port..
I have a local friend that has a XRGB 3 ill test in a few days that’s my last hope : (
I hope there may be a simple work around to the issue.....

Re: New LG 55LW6500 does not work with my XRGB 2 plus : (
some possibilities:
a) add an Extron RGB interface with sync processing between the XRGB and the VGA port. They're cheap.
b) use a VGA to HDMI converter which unlocks the refresh rate (e.g. a DVDO processor). Expensive.
c) buy a XRGB-mini with HDMI out. Even more expensive.

Thanks for the fast reply.
Do you have a model number for the Extron RGB interface.
If all else fails i hope to be able to return the device it does not
fix the issue...
found this in the pdf for an Extron device. This cound be my issue.
Serration pulses — Many LCD and DLP projectors and
plasma displays do not display properly if serration pulses
are present in the sync signal. Flagging or bending at the
top of the video image is a sign that the serration pulses
should be removed

there are many different ones. They all work and just differ in the number of inputs/outputs and some details. Just open up eBay, type EXTRON RGB and see what comes up. Some the very old ones use 9-pin RGB connectors instead of 15-pin VGA, so pay attention to this.Do you have a model number for the Extron RGB interface.

i have been looking at this one,
http://www.extron.com/product/product.a ... type=1&s=3
it has this as the output, Number/signal type: 1 RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB
I guess id need to set the DIPs to RGBHV and make some BNC to 15pin VGA cable and connect it to the tv?

I tested the XRGB 3 DVI with HDMI converter it worked, vga out did not.
I also ordered an Extron RGB 190 F , hope this gets my XRGB 2 Plus working.
looking into buying a Frame Meister if all else fails, not sure if or when a Xrgb 4 will be released.

Re: New LG 55LW6500 does not work with my XRGB 2 plus : (
ok got it working,
I had to run the video to a RGB 190f, then I used a BNC to VGA cable it to a Manhattan VGA to HDMI converter.
(i bought 2 different types of VGA TO HDMI converters this was the only one that work with everything.)
the XRGB 2 plus needs to have VD_LOCK off.
it looks 95% good i get some scaling issue on vertical paterns.
This can be helped a little by changing the USR_DTC.
(my old dlp had a course and fine adjustment under the RGB/VGA setting that got me a perfect image)
My guess, this is a problem with fixed pixel displays and analog signals as the tv is not sure what vertical line to display the image. So it flickers between the 2 closest columns of pixels. A Pixel limbo?
Now I am thinking of getting a HDMI to VGA converter and hoping I can fix this small issue.
It seem like the LG has some similar setting when in VGA/RGB-PC mode.
it sounds ass backwards but it may do the trick ans still be cheaper then the XRGB 3 or other options....
(RGB to VGA, VGA to RGB 190f ,RGB 190f VGA to HDMI, Back to VGA)= perfect video? lol

Wait... the Extron RGB 190F wasn't enough?
XRGB-2+ => Extron RGB 190F => VGA to HDMI => TV? (480p HDMI?)
and you're wanting to add a HDMI to analog converter so that you can use the PC input that doesn't accept the signal to begin with?

but HDMI to VGA boxes start around $50. ill most likely try a cheap one.
the Extron or the HDMI convert would not work on their own.
