LCD TV's for TATE

Post by shariar07 »

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a 24inch or 27 inch LCD TV that can rotate so i can play my shmups in tate mode. I saw dells website for monitors that flip in landscape to portrait but none have HDMI on them. I also some gadget called the Neo Flex that rotates your LCD's to vertical mode. ANy help?

I don't think theres any TVs that come with a pivot stand. Best bet is to get a LCD TV in the desired size and buy a Neoflex stand w/ pivot that can handle the size of the TV.

Any LCD TV stand with horizontal to vertical position is probably your best bet, though they're made to be positioned on the wall. If you're cheap you can make a wooden stand to TATE your LCD TV (hopefully nothing huge or expensive ^^;)

HP has LCD monitors with HDMI that can flip vertically. I own a HP w2207h (h stands for HDMI), it's 22" but I believe they're available in larger sizes too.

This monitor is only 23", but it's the absolute best one I can find for shooters and other games that require high precision (fighters, music, etc): ASUS PA238Q

Prad.de measured 2.2 milliseconds of input lag (which is extremely good for a non-CRT), it has DVI, HDMI, and VGA ports, it has an IPS panel, and its stock stand allows it to swivel and rotate for TATE and such. It's almost too good to be true. I'm getting one for Christmas, so I haven't seen one in action just yet.
