Another thread brought down by the tag-team of skykid and DrTrouserPlank. The Akai Katana thread better be careful if it knows whats good for it.
And to the mods, I say: how many more innocent threads will fall before someone gets a ban?

I'd like this too, but I've never seen it implemented very well on any forum. People still quote/reply to the person you want to ignore, so you end up having to read what they said anyway, lest you totally lose track of what people are talking about.rancor wrote:Yes.brentsg wrote:All I want for Christmas is an ignore feature for the Shmups forum.
Mods: please don't lock this thread, it has some very useful tips for newer and less skilled players. It would be better to remove or split off topic posts than to lock another thread for a popular game.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
There's a very simple solution to these problems. Just stop replying seriously to DTP's troll bullshit.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I would be greatly in favor of an ignore option, for the sake of civility.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Either that or have DrTrouserPlank start his own thread. He can keep anyone who's interested (because apparently there are some of you out there) on what he's failing at.
Please, this stuff is killing innocent threads.
EDIT: forgot to post what I originally wanted to er, post. Got to Larsa for the first time in 1.5 maniac mode tonight, having not played it for months. Tried to ignore scoring and focused on survival - pretty good fun in a mindless blasting kind of way.

Nice. You think you might give the game a serious look? I wouldn't mind having more competition in the high score thread. I actually think it's a lot easier than Deathsmiles.dan76 wrote:EDIT: forgot to post what I originally wanted to er, post. @DrTrouserPlank
Youre probably already aware of this but I might aswell throw it out. What size is the screen youre playing on? using TATE? A big screen helps to see the spaces between the bullets especially those big CAVE bullets

At the moment I'm on a 32" screen yoko. I have run it tate'd on smaller screens before. I don't find much difference between them as long as I have got most of the screen in my field of vision I can play it ok.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:@DrTrouserPlank

To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
A smaller screen can also help making it easier to keep track of the entire/a larger part of the screen at once.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:@DrTrouserPlank

We had a good old debate about this one in the Hardware section:TrevHead (TVR) wrote: A big screen helps to see the spaces between the bullets especially those big CAVE bullets

The conclusion there was that what's important is the apparent size of the screen in the player's field of vision.

Well, if you're using Firefox and have the GreaseMonkey-plugin installed, you could use this script. After installation, it adds an [x] after every username. Click the one next to the username you want to ignore, another click on the [x] will unhide (page needs to be reloaded ofc). Works with Chrome and should work with Opera, no idea 'bout IE though.brentsg wrote:All I want for Christmas is an ignore feature for the Shmups forum.

I wouldn't put you on ignore DTP. You're a bit frustrating to talk to about Cave games, but you make up about a third of talking points these days.
I don't want to ignore half the forum, how boring would that be?
Just one or two (...maybe three) folks.
I said it worked perfectly but there is a problem: it doesn't make the posts invisible, it just collapses them. That means you can still see when someone's made a post and toggle it back on. That temptation kind of ruins the idea, so I don't think it's for keeps.

Tried playing it with the music volume turned down to zero. Definitely think it was less irritating.

I don't suppose having a stick makes you vastly more accurate and magically more consistent does it? I'm getting one in a couple of weeks but I don't imagine it will make any difference whatsoever.

No, not at all. I do all my runs with the 360 pad and actually sold off my arcade stick.DrTrouserPlank wrote:I don't suppose having a stick makes you vastly more accurate and magically more consistent does it?
