Need NTSC-J playstation 1: where to buy?

Post by Randorama »

I am opening this thread as I just want some tips on online shops, but if it belongs to the trading section, then apologies and please move the thread.

Can anyone suggest me a good shop that sells NTSC-J PSXs? My old PSX is now dead, so I need a new one to play those few titles which do not run on PS2. Thanks in advance.

I have one. We can continue this through PM if you like. Let me know what you need (just the unit, cables, controller, box, manuals, etc.) and I can get you a shipping price.

Can you find mod-chipped systems locally? I got a modded PSOne for $5 once, plays my NTSC-J originals just fine. Not for sale, sorry - but why limit yourself to unmodded J systems?

I use an NTSC U/C PSX with a mod chip installed by the famous Dan Kramer (ex-Atari employee whom is credited as the designer/creator of the 2600 & 5200 versions of the Trackball controller -- even Nyko consulted with Mr. Kramer to get their PSX Trackball controller up & running correctly before it was released/sold to the general public back in November of 1998). Plays all my original JPN PSX games without a hitch. I also use a Gold Finger device to gain more user access to cool FMV clips & to check out Yellowbook audio clips/BGMs as well.
