so, who's the mole? (cave-emulation is serious business!)

Rumours are spreading that there is a mole among us? http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... start=1890
Someone has allegedly sent Cave a letter about us playing emulated cave games, and now there is a risk that we can never play Cave on MAME again - ever!

So let the witch-hunt begin!

We can rule out Arcade Legends 3:
Screw CAVE!
With all my heart I wish to CAVE a bankruptcy!
And about all of you, CAVE fans... I feel a sorrow.
He clearly wishes Cave to go bankrupty, and therefor he would encourage emulation.

Well it can't be BIL cos he's too busy persecuting the passive aggressive community to write letters :D
...although I've never trusted people with 3-letter names (apart from hzt)

Top thread BTW

It's definitely Rancor. Think about it: he stands to gain the most from eliminating emulation. Then everyone would naturally turn to him to purchase out-of-print Cave backstock. Furthermore, he's located in Japan and can speak their moon language. He has access to Cave's ear, and fills it with his lies and deceptions.

Yes clearly, and I just thought of him before you posted this, which is surely proof enough for anybody.

@DMC: don't allow yourself to be misled by BIL. Remember he was Rancor's first wife and is motivated by a misguided belief that they can reconcile...

Mole J Clark better get a first-class attorney.

I happened to check his profile. Guess what I found? Check the red box.

That's right. He has been suspiciously active in the "too close for comfort-thread",

Why am I not surprised "comrade" MoleJ brings up the subject of wives. His proclivities are now quite well known to the politburo.

How will he support his evil habit if CAVE's figurine production lines grind to a halt?!

That is a convincing arguments, but you missed one tiny detail!! 8)

I don't sell PCBs. It wouldn't really affect me either way if the arcade games are emulated - the merchandise would still go for ridiculous amounts.. And perhaps the prices would even go UP if more people were allowed access to the output of what CAVE produces. So, theoretically it's probably in my (financial) interest for the boards to be emulated.

There is another person here who fits all of those characteristics and does sell PCBs though. I'll let you super-sleuths figure out who that is.
