Happy Turkey day 2011 & Black Friday madness...
Here's wishing a Happy Turkey day for our fellow shmuppers stateside & abroad. Definitely gonna be plently of piping hot Turkey, ham and the usual Thanksgiving food fixings staples later on.
Am thinking of hosting a 5-player Bomberman '94 session on the ol' TG-16 console (with some cash hustling to spice up the gaming even better). May the best player win. This game is always a fun crowd pleaser at the Thanksgiving get-togethers indeed.
Not to mention the crazy & insane "Black Friday" deals going on tonight at midnight or even earlier. There's always the Cyber Monday deals to consider as well.
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

I miss turkey. A lot of Japanese people don't even know the bird is edible and it's nigh on impossible to find here - not even sure if Subway sells turkey sandwiches.
Pour some out for those of us that can't make it to the table this year.

The only place I ever remember having turkey was at USJ.

My Thanksgiving dinner last night was me alone in my apartment eating french fries and karaage I bought at Lawson while watching Seinfeld. Not that bad, really.

I just want to know, is anybody from this forum going to PCEFX's Bomberman party to meet the legend in person?

I'm not sure that Virgin is offering intergalactic travel just yet. Otherwise I'd love to go!gct wrote:I just want to know, is anybody from this forum going to PCEFX's Bomberman party to meet the legend in person?

I heard that's one of the reasons Japan eats KFC at Christmas time. Obviously KFC marketed bargain buckets being synonymous with everyone's favourite Christian holiday during the 80's/90's, which helped, but I understand it caught on as an alternative to the unavailable Turkey.rancor wrote:I miss turkey. Or have I just dreamed all that up?

Thank you for the well wishes, PCEFX
I spent my Thanksgiving eating turkey, watching stand-up comedy videos, and thinking of ways to tell my supes at work to "shove it" when I come back to work from the holidays

I made the rare trip home for Thanksgiving this year. Wound up downing a lot of Shiner in the process, rancor.
And as I see on the news, there was already at least one Black Friday debacle at a Walmart in Cali. God bless America!!!!

Not sure if it's true, but thats exactly what I heard as well! Now if only someone could tell me what the story is behind Japan and its Christmas cakesSkykid wrote: I heard that's one of the reasons Japan eats KFC at Christmas time. I've still got the 1-litre bottle I brought back for you after summer! I suppose now I have to perfect excuse to keep it for myself..GaijinPunch wrote:I made the rare trip home for Thanksgiving this year. Wound up downing a lot of Shiner in the process, rancor.

Yeah, down that thing.
I have 11 Shiner Blonde's that I need to finish by 5:45AM when I head out to the airport.
Never figured out the Christmas Cakes either. Christmas in general is just weird in Japan. Fucked Gaijin has a special thread for pre-Christmas shenanigans even.

There's always next year, folks. Or just tell Scotty to beam you right up. That certain does the trick most of the time (assuming the transporter operator gets the coordinates right the first time).rancor wrote:I'm not sure that Virgin is offering intergalactic travel just yet.
