Cave shop experiences?

Post by NOAH »

Okay, so I just bought some goods from Cave on Saturday and haven't received any type of confirmation other than those from paypal for the item and shipping payment. I sent another message to them yesterday in hopes of finding out the status of my order but I haven't received any feedback yet. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

It can take a few days for them to prep the shipment. If you kept your login credentials, you can visit the MyPage section of the shop to check your order status.

It takes a while. I waited for around one or two weeks before I got my parcel, but don't worry, you will get yours, just be patient.

I'm not too concerned about the delivery time, I just haven't received any type of order confirmation from Cave at all.

I ordered some stuff maybe a month ago, and received it, i had no problems.
When i paid i received this message

"Thank you for ordering.
We have received your order.
For your order status and summary, please log into your MyPage
with your ID and password."
...and details of my order

That's all

My bad. Actually it does take days at worst times just to get any sort of status updates. Usually it takes either half a working day or two at most to get the payment confirmed, then maybe a lot longer to see anything else move. Keep an eye on the status, but I can assure you it wouldn't be updated quickly, so give a week apart after each update.

It should also be noted that this site isn't you dealing with Cave directly, this is a proxy site.

For what it's worth, I've never once received any email communication from the Cave online store - I assume my email provider has them on a block list or something. I had to get customer support over Twitter because I had no idea what my login information was --;;

But yes, check the website for your order status, they keep that pretty up to date.

Is Cave's store the first time general consumers have been able to buy arcade PCBs direct from the manufacturer for private use? Though Neo-Geo cartridges kinda crossed this line halfway, and Capcom had the CPS Changer.

I've ordered twice from them. The first time it took quite a while for the package to ship out (two weeks or so). My more recent order was quicker though - it left Japan about a week or so after ordering.

I'm sure it'll be on its way to you soon!

Thought I should post the end result of my experience. I actually never received any communication at all regarding my order, but it arrived at my home in the US in 4 days. Very pleased with the delivery time and packaging, some indication of shipment would have made the wait a little easier.

looks like they are selling everything except games.

pity, I've been thinking about starting to collect cave PCB's but I'm not sure where to start.

Any recommendations?

Huh err why?

You don't buy games to "collect", you buy games to "play". Do you have a reason to own the PCB? Is it something you can't obtain otherwise? Is it financially affordable without room for buyer's regret? Are you buying from an auction scalper? Will you get value for money? Things to consider.

You are splitting hairs.. Of course I buy them to play them! :) :)
I got an arcade cabinet, but I don't own xbox, and not planning to buy one so obviously this is something to consider.

When you said "dont start", I thought that you were probably tired of this particular topic, hence the LOL (as this place can get pretty argumentative at times) but I misinterpreted. You really meant "dont start collecting".

But I have been collecting PCB's for 10 years now. I got truxton, R-type, viper phase 1, hellfire and quite a few other classic arcade games. I only miss the cave ones from my collection.

I want especially dodonpachi and mushihimesama (which I already own both as original PS1 & PS2 conversions), and I would be buying one a year. I was hoping to plan to save money to get deathsmiles and mushihimesama futari at least.
I have found only few retailers from the net that seem to be selling cave PCB's but I don't know if they are trustworthy.

EDIT. So I was looking for good PLACES to buy the PCBs I am looking for. Sorry! :)

Your best bet would be Fujita or Yahoo Auctions for the older stuff.

Cave shop is no more? It says on the site it´s closed...

I think they are on holiday. I remember reading something about holiday period but forgot from what date to what date. Can someone confirm this? (the date that is)

It says "Hibernation. zzzzz". Weird. Almost seems like the work of a disgruntled employee.

Hope they haven't decided the store's too expensive to maintain. I was thinking of buying that Ketsui wallet chain.
