I agree.
We've now come past the point where one should still have doubts about getting it, budget allowing.
The 360 library has already surpassed the Dreamcast's, and I'm not even considering downloadable stuff.

I don't have space for another 360 on my entertainment center. Yes, I'm poor and humorous and don't live on my own infinite plane like you do, but you could have laughed to yourself if you had nothing constructive to add. Most forums I've been to frown upon junk posts like that, but this one seems to celebrate it. I'll never understand this place.


The point is that I was content having access to about half of the STGs AND whatever English language North American releases I wanted to play. Now things are changing. 50k print run for NA games and mandatory region-locks on JP games? It looks like my access to STGs is going to shrink considerably AND I'll have to put up with the restrictions of GoD releases OR I need to find space and money for a second 360. Disappointing news is disappointing news, and I'm not sure Microsoft has any idea what they fuck they are doing.

I'd imagine that if someone couldn't afford a j360 (which is understandable), it shouldn't be too costly to just jtag the 360 that you are playing all of your region free shmups on. Then you could play the North American releases at your desire, and still have access to those region-locked shmups.

Of course, this would have its drawbacks, but it would be a nice alternative to not being able to play some of the region-locked shooters that come out in the future.

I don't suppose it's getting a US/EU release on the PS3 or 360 is it? that would drastically reduce the cost. If not it looks like I'll be buying it for the J360 at the usual extortionate prices.

Looks like the LE includes an arrange soundtrack by the same composer that did Eschatos. Eschatos had a great soundtrack, looking forward to this!

I do hope that the game will either be localized or region-free, though. It would be a shame if it were region locked to Japan just like it's Dreamcast counterpart.

Who knows? It would be absolutely lovely if you could choose which soundtrack you wanted to use, like Raiden DX. The only thing better than one awesome soundtrack is two awesome soundtracks!

Well, the Arrange Tracks that were composed for the DC version were selectable in the game (the LE just happened to also include them on a CD), so I assume they'll do the same thing with the HD release.

What are the cryptic ones? All I can see is that PS3 is obviously region free, Xbox360 isn't and they would like to be able to make the game available to a wider audience (who wouldn't?).

Getting a PAL/NTSC release depends on them finding a publisher. I strongly doubt RSG would pick this up as it's not really their bag. So you are then left trying to find small "indie" publishers to pick it up, and that almost always means that one region (probably PAL) won't get any release at all. An XBLA isn't beyond the realms of possibility seeing as Grev have released other stuff on there.
