I'm not aware offhand of any major differences aside from the Kinect/Move thing, if that makes any difference to you...also, IIRC the 360 version can do 1080P, but the PS3 one only goes up to 720P.

For reals?
I was waiting for the PS3 one to get some extra content. That sounds really ass stupid. 360 version is cheaper, so looks like I'll yoink it.

Yeah, I was a bit worried after I picked up the 360 version at launch, but it seems that nothing extra was added for the PS3, at least as far as I know...anyone heard anything to the contrary on that?GaijinPunch wrote:I was waiting for the PS3 one to get some extra content.

360 can only UPSCALE to 1080p... nothing on the 360 is true 1080p. In other words it's 720p on 360 also. You can have your TV upscale the PS3 version to 1080p or have your 360 do it. Either way the native resolution is the same. PS3 is the only one out of the 2 that can output true 1080p.IIRC the 360 version can do 1080P, but the PS3 one only goes up to 720P.
PS3 version also adds 3D support along with move support if that's your thing. I like the game with the move myself.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

You're right on the majority of games being rendered at lower resolutions then upscaled for presentation for performance reasons, but that doesn't mean the 360 isn't capable of rendering at 1080p if the source game demands it. Castlevania HD is natively 1080p for instance. Random searching claims it's not alone either - games like Geometry Wars 2 and Virtua Tennis 3 also render at 1080p.Strider77 wrote:PS3 is the only one out of the 2 that can output true 1080p.

Not my thing -- and being cheap is my thing, so I'll probably get the 360 version when I get back in town. Thanks for the infos, fellow intarnet geeks.Strider77 wrote: PS3 version also adds 3D support along with move support if that's your thing. I like the game with the move myself.

Re: Child of Eden by Q
Just got this recently. Currently on the 5th stage - I'm finding a section near the end a little confusing and can't figure out what to do to avoid getting 'injured'. It'd probably be easier to link to a video than try and describe it...

I keep getting hit in kinda the same way the guy here does. What should I be doing there?

You need to kill the three worm things that are circling the core before the purple lines close in. I don't think they're worth any points (not 100% sure though), so just kill them as fast as you can and you should be set.

The worms and the swarm of manta rays (?) don't give points, so mash the hell out of the A button (don't octolock, you'll ruin your combo) and kill them fast. If you happen to miss some, hit overdrive just as the circle closes and you'll avoid damage.
Note that the floating cube clusters on that boss DO give points, so try to octo-lock them when possible. The stage is pretty long, so it's not terribly difficult to hit the 800k you need for 5/gold stars even if you overdrive or break your combo a few times.

For me, this was the most disappointing game in several years. A true bummer

Re: Child of Eden by Q
Thanks for the tips. Just beat the final level fairly easily earlier this evening. My score wasn't great though - only ~470K. That was just outside the top 100 overall, so I guess not too many people bought this on the PS3 either.
Are most people playing with a controller? I couldn't really imagine trying to get perfect locks without the controller vibration. I'm fairly rhythmically challenged though, so I need all the help I can get...
