Thunder Force III High scores

Post by ThunderForce 222 »

Please post new ThunderForce III scores in the new high score thread.

Well I know it's an oldie but let's see the high scores in the shooter that set the standards in graphics and gameplay in the 90's.

Name/Game level/Start Stage/Version/---Score

ThunderForce/Normal/Siren/Goldpack 1/---1,344,990
---I missed some enemies in Orn base, due mainly to the fact I just got this version of the game and was VERY suprised to find out the either the enemies are a liitle tougher to destroy or the Wave weapon is a little weaker in what I'm sure is the Japanese version of the game. The U.S. version has either weaker enemies or a stronger wave weapon. I generally don't use teh Sever too much but here I did more than usuall. I'll post better scores a little later when I get used to the changes.

It seems that most of the games posted here in "High Score" section are placed on defaults so I played normal. But if you want to include Mania difficulty score as well I have no problem.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonic R/Normal/Hydra/Genesis/----1,081,050

Just poped this one in today to see what I could score. Did good until the final strecth. I generally use the sever, wave or fire. When I get to the ship I use hunter for a little bit. Its alot stonger than one might think for a homing gun. I just play the defult level of difficulty.

I have put your scoretable into a form, so you just have to hit the quote button on my post. ;)

Code: Select all

# Name Score Version Start Stage

01 ThunderForce 222 1'344'990 Goldpack1 Siren
02 Sonic R 1'081'050 Genesis Hydra
03
04
05
06
07
08
09
10
Highscoretables in general are played on default settings, but you could also add a scoretable for the maniac level you mentioned.

Too bad I have lost my Thunderforce 3 highscore. As I can recall, I think I too had something about 1.3 million... but I don't remember exactly. :(

JL/Normal/Hydra/Goldpack 1/---1,346,410

Too bad that this game doesn't save scores. I lost my past hi-scores and I went through all over it again.

zinger - normal - hydra - Mega Drive - 1,071,320

This is my first Thunder Force 1CC ever. A bit easy, and far too heavy on memorization but still pretty fun (especially towards the end). I won't touch this in a while now, might move on to TFIV.

Hmm, don't post these, as they're mega-old and I can't vouch for their details, but I have these scores I recorded in my manual:

June 19, 1992
2,369,160

June 21, 1992
5,882,600

I always started on Hydra.

They're both way higher than current scores here, which seems odd. It's possible they were from Mania mode, where end-of-game bonuses may be higher? I forget.

I'll try to get some modern scores in the near future. I need a TV first.

I got 6617800 that was on Mania level and with no lives lost.
You finish with 25 lives left over if you pick up all the secret ones too and that multiplies the score at the end. (plus the mania multiplier of x6)
Never used this forum before, but I didn't see anyone had done a 'mania' scoreboard...

Since I replied to TF4, I'll reply here as well...

The Coop- 6,807,450- Genesis- Hydra

Played it on Mania and didn't loose a single life.
