Seth is ridiculous. You'd think Capcom would've learned from Gouki that giving boss characters tiny little lifebars isn't enough to fix them for normal play. Urien is an example of how to do this correctly--he's a greatly toned down version of Gill with normal health (although Gill doesn't have the Aegis).

Capcom doesn't need to nerf Seth, they need to nerf Ponngko. (Seriously, he's the only person who can make that character clean house)

I didn't say that Seth is necessarily overpowered--just ridiculous. He'll either be killed near-instantly or never let the other guy get in a hit. There's no middle ground.

I've never seen/hear any street fighter player hit as many buttons as poongko? Saw a video on crosscounter.tv after EVO and they had poongko in the room, playing some games online. It sounded like he constantly piano'ed buttons during the match?

Poongko got a perfect round on Daigo. It was pretty crazy

He is doing something similar to the old piano method; it's called plinking, and all of the top players do it. In SF4's game engine, there's a glitch that allows an attack to register twice if a lighter version is used on the very next frame. So for example, if you want to plink a HK, you need to hit HK and then MK immediately after (almost at the same time, but not quite). And since SF4 is extremely link heavy, it makes a lot of combos easier to hit consistently since it gives you an extra frame to hit the link.

Hope that makes sense.

I know what plinking is, but what Poongko does is just redicilous.

Could it be more simple than that, and fighters are more complicated than you seem to believe? It's not like most hobbies don't have their own jargon either... even STGs, it's pretty impenetrable from the outside world, really

I see what you mean but I Think it simplifies things when you try to explain stuff like combos. There is some stupid terms though. Im getting sick of hearing of sodium levels and being salty :x

that's the main reason i hardly check out the srk forums anymore. too many fps people that can't play fighting games just want to talk shit and complain as it's easier than actually learning to play.

OT: poongko has been destroying for a while. when gamestop had the vanilla sf4 tournament he came over as the korean champion with his crazy rush down ryu. it was sick to watch, but didn't really work against the top tier players. his seth is godlike though. he was able to channel all that button pushing into something cohesive. he's constantly hitting buttons because he's always doing option selects, on top of plinking. the way he exploits the sf4 engine is unbelievable.

"Salty" isn't a technical term. Along with "scrub," it's just a word that e-sports douchebags like to throw around to sound cool.
