RSG publish DDP Resurrection in Europe
Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
No, but purely because of the order in which the tanks appear on screen you will have to destroy them in a certain order.
The bottom left 2 first, collecting a bee next to them on the way.
Move right, destroy the other two canisters BEFORE destroying the tank, allowing you to collect a bee and cancel a shit ton of bullets (on BL mode anyway) then move left and finish the last tank, then HARD right with autofire to continue the chain on the popcorn tanks that come from the right.
That's how I do it, and it always works everytime.
The main problem is destroying the first canisters fast enough, you basically have to spawn the bee on the left, run right up to it at the top of the screen, collecting it as soon as possible. You can sit on the bee's spawn point for about 1 second, point-blanking the first canister, then hold laser and move vertically down to avoid the bullets chasing you, and dodge the splurge fire from the first tank.
That's with bomb style anyway, with power/strong style you can just bottom hug and you'll kill the canisters in time easily, and on BL you can use the 2nd and 3rd bees as bullet cancels for points while taking care of the canisters and building hyper.

Thanks.
Valcon clearly explained how to activate X-Medals in the manual of Raiden Fighters Aces, why couldn't RSG be as helpful?

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
Oddly enough, most high-level Black Label players don't activate Ura. I don't know what that's about, but I've seen it in like 5 different superplays.
Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
On the normal, non-ura path, there's a point near the end where you can hyper and get an ungodly amount of bullet cancels.
This works because the areas of the level where you're moving vertically up happen to have more popcorn enemies in them for hyper cancelling. A large part of the 1-1 Ura route involves very few enemies, after the ura boss it's just canisters and 2 bees, then the down right descent with just 2 waves of popcorn and a carrier, then the end of the vertical ascent to the boss.
At the same time, if using power style you can score more points by ignoring the hyper requirement for the ura boss, doing a hyper bullet cancel before the mid level boss, and another right before the end of the level.
You can quite easily get the first extend before the first boss if you do it properly.
Thankfully you can go all the way to Golden Disaster/Hibachi/Zatsuza without getting the 1-1 ura boss as long as you collect 45 bees from the other ura paths on the first loop.
Edit: wait, no you can't, 9 bees a level only on the ura loo, I'm snorting blocks. The rest of what I said was correct though

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
It was Cave's decision, not RSG. Ketsuipachi was a retail release only. Might also have something to do with the lack of ketsui in PAL.defected78 wrote:why have RSG cut out ketsuipachi
Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
They didn't cut anything. What got localized was the exact same DFK 1.5 the Japanese got. Ketsuipachi was just a rather broken bonus for the standalone release of Black Label.
Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
To expect Ketsuipachi in this release is like thinking you're gonna get the Black Label soundtrack included with this game

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
As expected it only too me 1-1.5 hours to get my first clear, what surprised me slightly is that I did it with B-Strong rather than C-Strong. Well, now that I have a clear out of the way it's time to work on scoring. This game confuses the hell out of me but I'm sure it's not too bad once it clicks.
If anyone is still whining about it not being as easy as they thought or whatever, all you have to do to get a Strong clear is have a semi-passable run through the laser wheels. Took me maybe 5 or 6 credits proper minus some dicking around in the first level learning how to trigger ura. I'm sure with some replay study and actual practice it wouldn't be much of an issue.
This game has some fun patterns, I'm looking forward to getting into it more. Definitely has a unique feel to it, I think I've warmed up to it slightly since my initial exposure last year.

Is something wrong with the leaderboards? They keep telling me I need to be signed in to view them (I am), and none of my new scores have been uploaded today.

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
Its definitely inferior to 1.5 or BL. Sucks though? I think its worth playing just for the visuals and soundtrack. Possibly better than the 1.51 dlc mode.mesh control wrote:fun fact:

But yeah, no one is missing out on much, the meat of these games is in 1.5 and BL

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
Found it in town today, seemingly the only copy in Manchester, and made my wife buy it me as a birthday present due to the fact that I only got Skyrim on Friday. Unfortunately that means I won't be playing it for about a month but it'll give me something to look forward to.

We should probably get around to actually asking Rising Star on Facebook or whatever if they have any plans to release Ketsuipachi.

Plenty of people (including myself) have already asked... but the more people that ask the more likely it'll happen.Estebang wrote:We should probably get around to actually asking Rising Star on Facebook or whatever if they have any plans to release Ketsuipachi.

Just didn't see any indication of it in this thread, though I guess that's because they haven't responded!

The RSG poster on this forum has responded to requests for the BL Arrange several times in this thread with a 'no information at the moment' response.

Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
That's the same they said in their forum and on twitter. It's not in their hands, but I'm sure they let cave know about this. Btw. I want ketsui more than ketsuipachi ... even while it's available through mame.

Thanks for clearing it up.
Would be very ambitious to think that ketsuipachi could be a DLC considering this matches the original japanese retail release.
Sorry again RSG games for doubting you.

Yeah, I haven't played it.

Lockshot/proximity gimmick + hyper bullet cancelling gimmick makes the game look like more of a cluster than other Cave games.
IMO

3/4 of the score being bound to the TLB=no
Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.
Well, I seriously doubt RSG will be able to release the game twice at retail, so DLC is the only way Ketsuipachi could make the jump.

Just because I can't do the infinite life bug in Pink Sweets doesn't make it any less fun (or sodomizing, depending on how you look at it).

Ha ha, exactly! None of my score thus far is coming from the TLB.Paradigm wrote:3/4 of your score won't be coming from the TLB, so don't worry about it.Bananamatic wrote:3/4 of the score being bound to the TLB=no
The mode is fun. Imperfect, but fun.
Considering its an Arrange mode, I think it came out pretty good. Its not like the Arrange modes are known for their perfection.
Plus, if the score you get from the TLB is fixed, even if it amounts to a lot, there is still score variable in the rest of the game that will change your end game score.
So, ignoring the huge amount of points that "everyone" will get from the TLB, the entire rest of the game can still be perfected, score wise, leading to differing high scores. Sure, those scores will be closer than normal with that huge bonus, but its not like anyone that can beat the TLB will automatically have a WR score. They will just have a big number to be happy about.
