Deciding on scart cable
I need a little help trying to figure this out. Now I'm planning on getting some scart cables for my systems and most of the online shops say their cords are Euro/jpn. I understand US/jpn have the same pinout, but Euro doesn't and I fear this would cause me to fry my hardware. Any advice you guys can give me so I can avoid running into a problem over this?

Re: Deciding on scart cable
There are no "US" scart cables. There are just possible pinouts: european (99% of all cables) and japanese (1% of the cables). The *only* reason for getting japanese ones are for use with a XRGB unit. For everything else, get european ones.

So this will work then? I'm planning to get a scart to VGA adapter for both my Faroudja and CGA/VGA converter since those are the only inputs they support.

Re: Deciding on scart cable
Which Faroudja unit do you have ?
The CGA/VGA converter (e.g. GBS8220) does require CLEAN sync, you using a Scart to VGA adapter will only work if your source can supply clean sync already. If your source uses composite video you need a stripper/cleaner (e.g. the Sync Strike).

Never had one, sorry. I don't know if the VP250 accepts composite video as sync or if requires pure/raw sync like the 8220.

I could probably find out after I order a spare vga box and mod it for 15khz.
