The store I got it from has an extra (and I'm sure there's more than one in the state), see if they can have it shipped your way.

Picked this up and I have to say I absolutely hate it. Its feels clunky and unresponsive. I do appreciate the weapon customization variety though. I dunno I tried playing a few credits and did not enjoy. The polygonal art is ugly. I'm just hating it and glad I didn't get the collector's edition. Maybe it just makes a bad impression but so far its my least favorite shooter this gen.

Watch out when Konami whips out a new game called Otomedius Terrible and it turns out to be a fucking amazing game.

I've had the original Japanese release for quite a while, never touched it until recent and I must say, I liked Gorgeous more.

I had low expectations for this going in, and even still, this game is total crap.

Character too big to dodge, bosses time out too quickly, bullets you can barely see, terrible......

I hope this is not the closest we get to Gradius on the 360.

@SFKhoa and postman

Finally some sense in this thread.
One has to be pretty lacking in the taste department not to see how Otomoedius Excellent is a terrible game. Or lack experience with shooters that are actually good.

yea this is exactly my problem with this game as well. It reminds me of Cho Aniki(PSX) game play which I also hated.

I always get hit by the stage 2(?) mini boss, the square that spins around. It seems like those lasers just appear out of no where...
and that laugh she does when she flies away...

Letting everyone know that the Practice mode has a visible hitbox. Just seeing it once really helped to judge which attacks I could slip through.

I see, and the hitbox is rather big after all...

Other than that, I've read from some guys over at G-faqs that you can't destroy Tetran (Gofa Sisters's Ship), you can take out the core protectors, but not the core itself, which is a real pain in the ass, considering why they made that ship non-destructible unless there's proof that it can be destroyed.

Watch my video again. Specifically, watch my score skyrocket as I take out Tetran :D
That's the only proof you get for "defeating" them.

Yeah you get a ton of points for taking out those blockers, but you can't destroy the thing to my knowledge.

Yeah that's what I meant. You get something like 900,000 points if you manage to take everything out. But no matter how quickly you do it, you still have to dodge their entire attack :|

I saw it from 4:55-5:15, at least you're right, and that missle+gravity combo work wonders, at least this makes it easier to get the Top Gun Achievement, lol.

And actually, 800,000 extra points is what you get though, just watched the vid.

Update: Got it in S.A. with 10.7 Mil, in 4th loop, stage 2.

They do........they literally do - I watched specifically for the part you are talking about, and the boss starts the attack pattern before you can actually see it. Then, being behind, it just appears onscreen.......

Crap like this is excusable from newly formed developers, but Konami?!

Though bashing this game a lot, I must admit I am kind of enjoying collecting achievements and weapon cards.

The "explanation" for the girls' outfits gave me a laugh. I'd rather have the honesty of them saying "this sells copies, we're a business and we're here to make money" though.
Now how about releasing some of the DLC stateside, Konami?

Heh, reminds me of the "justifications" given for similar shenanigans in Onechanbara and Ar Tonelico (IIRC one of the latter's staff simply stated "they have to take their clothes off to save the world!" at one event).

One part of me agrees with you here, but another finds it much more fun to snigger at half-arsed PR.

I can't imagine that from a Konami US PR at all...

Agreed about the gameplay, and then the art mostly feels generic and the backgrounds flat/two-dimensional. It's not the engaging feel of an alien world come to life (as with Gradius) or an absurd one (Parodius). Mostly it is surprisingly plain, and not even cute in a good way (Harmful Park). I'll give it more time, though. I can't buy a game twice and just leave it on the shelf each time. I bought this new version to force myself to give it a chance.

Played the first Otomedius game yesterday for the first time and I'm quite disapointed.... it's average at best.

I like the gradius and salamander serie, the first gradius on the nes was probably my very first shmups back in the 80s.

But this new serie....... ermm..... it needs more kick-ass-ness ! :) less boring music and better graphic.

Yep. This was the same observation I had when I played Gorgeous! They shoulda stuck with Parodius: better designs, music, and challenge 8)

Any suggestions on how to kill the moving block in front of the big core on the jungle level? (I think it's 4). It gives a weapon card, and I throw everything I have at it, and still the boss times out.

I assume Esmeralda is the strongest with the green lasers, they seem to slice through everything.....

Well, that thing does takes forever to destroy, but unless you use a certain character's D-Burst and the use of possibly Gravity + Rocket Punch though, maybe leveled up may take it down quicker.

In other news from the OE FB Page, the chance of DLC may come next week from a comment from "Pearl". (As of post.)

A few pretty easy ways:
Poini Coon Abuse. (Hint: Dburst)
Esmeralda option lineup with Pulse Laser 3
Fuuma Nen-Do-Ha 3
Tita Nium options with a constant damage laser, like C-Laser or Aqua Laser. Either focus them and sit infront of it and dodge back and forth, or hide behind it. Use Spread Bomb if you hide behind it.

I've been able to kill it pretty consistently using just the Boomerang (and whatever missile I had equipped at the time, I guess), on both Normal and Expert. It does take awhile to go down, though.

Ion Ring (laser category) level 2:

Where the heck is this? Every weapon chart says it's on Expert loop 2-7, and it has something to do with the turrets on the elevators, but I must have played the level 10 times killing everything on the up and down platforms, and no card.

It's easy to miss. It's on the lower left. Last shelf. Bombspam to get it, easy way.
