Annoying Ketsui Lock Shot Sound

Is there any way to stop the annoying Ketsui lock shot sound? Maybe a hack or something?

It makes this beep that drives me nuts and annoys the hell out of me.

I did find that the beep is softer on the ketb version of the game, which I think is older? Then they revised it and made it even louder! lol

I always wondered if some of those voice clips (the ones straight after "presented by cave" are in the game at all. Their probably unused like ketsuis "Just a couple more shots" voice clip.

I don't know of any method to remove the lock on sound, you may just want to mute the game and then play the OST over it if it's really that bad.

I'm not sure if you've played Ketsui for a long time or not, but it appears that most everyone eventually does get used to it, but again if not just mute the game and play music over it.

I've played the crazy pork muchi and had no problems there.

I think it's the high frequency of the lock that rubs me the wrong way.

Oh well, I can't think of any other games that mess with me.

I just need to get good at locking less and improve my game.

Yeah, first revision of the game has softer lock sound but has more glitches. They should mostly be besides the point if you're using mame, though, it's not like you're needing to keep the board in freeplay or anything. I scarcely notice the lock sound when I play, but if I'm watching someone else, or the attract mode, or something, it stands out. I think it's kind of helpful, though. An audio que to what's going on.

Yes, play with the original Ketsui rom and not the update rom. The original rom still has this sound, but its not as loud or annoying as the updated rom.

One of my favorite things about the ports is adjusting the sound and voice volumes. I almost always feel that they drown out the music and grate a tad much. Usually go with around 100% music, 85% sound, 80% voice.

Ketsui's constant BEEP-BEEP-BEEP does drive me a little batty, but it didn't stop me from playing for a month straight.

Pork and Ibara are the worst though, Reco's dying cry is bad too but at least it's less frequent.

It's a bit annoying, but I got used to it. However, I did turn the sound effects down some, to drown it out a bit. Of course, that's the Xbox version. Maybe someone can hack the rom?


Now, Muchi Muchi Pork, takes the cake. That port...thank the gods you could turn off those voices.

But anyway the beeps are useful because you can tell if you've got a full lock on annoying targets like bosses or that horrible Nightmare in the reverse scrolling part of stage 5 without looking. You should appreciate them.
