Nitronic Rush

Post by Zeether »

I had heard of this game a while back and now it's got an official release date: November 11.

It looks like Rush, Tron, and Trackmania had a kid. Good stuff.

Can definitely see the trackmania influences. Looks like it could be cool if they don't go totally overboard with the OMG SHINY COLORS EVERYWHERE.

The best part of this game, or at least the part I played that held the most promise, was when the player was racing towards the 'core' of the computer, located on the far horizon. The entire time the core's defensive systems were active, which meant the player was forced to dodge lasers, bullets, debris, etc. Besides starfox, it reminded me a lot of another DP developed game, Igneous, which was never finished, but was pretty amazing. http://youtu.be/o0PuVQk2eww

Game's released now! Played it last night and it's fucking brilliant.
Lots of other comparisons have already been made but it seems to me like a Trackmania/Rez hybrid and that's gotta be awesommmmmmmme :D
