Is it any good as an actual game? besides the just the weirdness? The trailer is really well done.DoubleThink wrote:Been there, dunked that

This may be old news to other people, but a friend of mine showed it to me yesterday and I was floored.

It's fairly easy/basic, but unless you hate turn-based it's enjoyable enough

Yeah, and that's the actual boss battle track from Blue DragonEx-Cyber wrote:jesus christ the guy from deep purple sang this

But yeah, the game is awesome imo. Really short, but I enjoyed it. The best part about it's battle system is how each character has their own gimmick.

Game of the Year 2008
Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden is not much to look at graphically and you can call it easy without being unfair, but the writing is brilliant. The send-ups of (J)RPG conventions should have anyone even nominally familiar with the genre producing actual laughter. What really put this game over the top for me however is the utterly deadpan treatment it gives it's ridiculous backstory. Lesser comedy games would neglect this or fail to keep a consistent tone, but Barkley nails it.
So you fight Ghost Dad, you locate the F.I.N.A.L G.U.N. You level up b-ball skills and praise applebottoms. You lament the horrible post-cyberpocalyptic world that you (personally) have left to your son.
...Just one more Chicken-Fry...
