It's time to replace the motherboard.

Erm no it isn't, replace the CR2032 CMOS battery on the motherboard, it'll then save BIOS settings.

Have you checked to make sure that the CMOS clear jumper isn't shorted? Even if there's no cap on it, some connectors have enough exposed metal to short one.

Ive cleared the CMOS sevral times and made sure the jumper is back on properly , Maybe a new BIOs chip ?

What make/model motherboard is it? Something fairly recent or is it old?

Settings are probably stored in RTC RAM inside the ICH10R chip. I doubt that swapping out the BIOS chip would help.

Does it lose the settings on every restart or only when the system is powered off? Does your power supply have a 5VSB (standby power) line that stays hot all the time?

it seems to only lose the settings from time to time , Never if i keep the power on

When i replaced the battery it worked for about 2wks :(

Yeah sounds like its not recharging properly... even then I'd expect longer than 2 weeks though, maybe not... what a shitty little thing not to work :P

Are you doing a crazy overclock? I've seen this cause CMOS issues on occasion.

Yes i do have it overclocked quite a bit both GPU & CPU but when i run it standard for a while it still seemed to lose its settings , I might just whack a new battery in there and run it all standard for a while and see what happens

Cheers

Just and update , it seems to be sorted now but im not sure if it was that i underclocked my CPU and GPU to a more sensible level or that i wedged a tiny bit of cardboard in between the battery holder and the battery itself so it made a better connection ?

Been running fine now for weeks

Thanks

I'm leaning towards the more sensible level. Depending on where you wedged that cardboard you may have disconnected the battery from the contacts on the holder.
