Again, too good to be true!?
I wish they normally sold for this though, then I could replace my "original looking" imposter.

Obviously a bootleg.

If you're looking for a real Sapphire my no. 1 advice would be: Stay away from Ebay.

Yeah there was a thread here a while ago that said something about the costume being slightly purple on the original and blue on the bootleg.

That pic looks mighty blue to me.
You're arguing for a universe with fewer waffles in it. I'm prepared to call that cowardice.

Yip. Although the biggest giveaway is the tear-off strip which is about an 2cm from the bottom. On sealed PCE games the strip is always very close to the bottom edge. Besides, nobody in their right mind would sell a real Sapphire for $60 BIN.

But anyway, the different ways to tell a fake were all covered in the last Sapphire thread.

Well, I won't be bidding on this one, as I figured it was too good to be true, plus I already own a really nice looking bootleg...so I won't need two!
I realize that Sapphire can fetch up to $350.00

BTW: I knew that mine was a bootleg copy when I bought it, it looks like the real thing, and it plays like the real thing...I just didn't have to mortage the house to be able to play it!

All in all, its a cool shmup and I love the music. I'm just glad I actually have a chance to experience it.

^^^ j00 r t3h su><0rz.

Kidding.

At least you didn't have to spend a gazillion bucks to find out it's an average shooter with above-average graphics, and that's not the best thing since sliced bread.

Don't you think that prostetic leg should be wearing a boot instead of a "hiking" shoe?

Hey, it was as close as I could get... And you would be surprised what some modern apendages allow people to do. I know someone with one who does some light hiking and hunts on a regular basis. It works for him!

It's pretty sad that they'd bootleg such a subtle console's game.

I email the guy who sells the bootleg copys of the game, this is what he said:

"Hi,

"thanks" for your email, but no need to get rude !

By selling this reprint at a price tag of $59,99 I don't screw anybody.
I have setup a large information site for people asking questions.

We tried to confirm the authenticy of the game with Hudson Japan and did
NOT confirm that this was a bootleg, so don't believe everything you
read on the web...

People like him are screwing buyers:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 8174915395
(sold the same version as I do)

> screwing up the shooters market

so, what's the shooters market ? a place where people are happy to pay $500
for a game ? As a matter of fact it have always been people like you
screwing others with ridiculous prices. Or do you have any better explanation
why a game like Sapphire catches such prices ? It has NEVER been rare in
Japan and it even isn't today.

Thanks for your time.
I'm practically sold out, so I'll quit soon and you can sell yours for
500 bucks again, don't worry.

Bye."

I don't believe his story!

I love how most experts of Japan on the internet have never been there.

The Phoenix government has also NOT confirmed that the huge beach property here in Az is desert, so you guys better come to me and start buying your patch of hot sandy beach before I decide to start selling over 2 bucks per square yard.

Going once, going twice...
