Goddamn I forgot how much I love the AST for Chrono Trigger

I should figure out how to hack these versions into the PSX remake or something.

I sort of consider modern R&B - the musical equivalent of used toilet paper - to have been born in the 90's with the likes of Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, R-Kelly all that other trash. Prior to that it's all just variations of pop in ballad styles, certainly not important enough to call itself a successor to the blues.Udderdude wrote:I don't think late 80s is anything to feel guilty about. >_>louisg wrote:(oh, and horrible guilty pleasure that'll ruin my credibility forever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IlHq3n3hy0 YEAAAAHHHH!)
Cee Lo Green is actually a good producer. I wouldn't DL his tunes, but I'd say he's varied enough to qualify as a general pop artist than be placed in the same category as people like Usher, Mary J Bilgewater and Jason Defoolo.

Motown Philly transcends any of your bullshit criticism! Talk more shit on something that deserves it like dubstep.
That is Galactic Dancing

Back to the dubstep bashing then.

Wait, what's the current subject of this thread?
Due to a lot of derails, I've come to the conclusion that Amy Grant probably isn't dubstep.

I'd like to be in agreement with you, since I reckon BSE are technically the best of all current popular D&B acts. Their EQ balancing and mixing is precision perfect, and I prefer them to Nosia who's less melody and more... noise. However after listening to Lights & Wires and wondering what the hell was accosting my ears I felt like mailing them a letterbomb.replayme wrote:ah, but this is good dubstep.

I don't like the over the top wub wub LFO based (and usually NI Massive) type stuff - but some of the darker almost metal type stuff I kinda like- even that though I probably wouldn't put on by choice really, one thing I do like about it for the greater common good (well in my eyes anyway :p) is that it is bringing some people towards Jungle/Breakbeat/Hardcore (I mean some people who listen to dubstep seem to be getting into old breakbeat hardcore too (a bit))

Here's some more dubstep that's genre-defyingly awesome:
Mobthrow - Iron Tribal
Most of the rest of the album is a lot more raw and downbeat, but equally awesome.
As for Scooter, they apparently decided to try out the dubstep-inspired Skrillex electro sound

In even less dubstep related news, here's some banging techno that's a tribute to Mushihimesama:
Mangadrive - Pink Bullet Curtain

speaking of bse: i just my order for 'cruel and unusual' (cd) confirmed today. £1.99 + p&p. bargain of the century.Skykid wrote:I'd like to be in agreement with you, since I reckon BSE are technically the best of all current popular D&B acts. It is! I picked it up for my bro last Christmas and it set me back quite a bit more. Are you getting the 2 CD version?replayme wrote: speaking of bse: i just my order for 'cruel and unusual' (cd) confirmed today. £1.99 + p&p. bargain of the century.
C&U is the best of the lot btw, good choice.

They got any more at that price? I ordered Cruel & Unusual a couple of years ago, and never got it, so I've been a bit reluctant to pay for it again.replayme wrote: speaking of bse: i just my order for 'cruel and unusual' (cd) confirmed today. £1.99 + p&p. bargain of the century.
And yeah, C&U is the best simply because it has Bitemark, always a hit when I spin it at parties. The rest is a good, added bonus.
Re: Gahhh Dubstep!! >_<
I just think its got the best overall selection. Driving Insane is good too, but you tire of the tracks quicker, even Arrakis.Sumez wrote:They got any more at that price? I really like "Everything", it builds for ages and the drop is pure filth.

Every time someone remixes a Foster the People song, a kitten dies.
Every time someone makes a dubstep remix of ANYTHING, twenty kittens die.
Re: Gahhh Dubstep!! >_<
"off" topic: bse should soundtrack a (treasure/iuchi) shmup - especially the boss fights.Skykid wrote:It is! I picked it up for my bro last Christmas and it set me back quite a bit more. "on" topic: it should be the 2cd version (it hasn't arrived yet). i really like that song by corrupt souls on the 2nd cd - it sounds like the armageddon. so much so that when i was tasked to make a short film in my film-making course last year, i used it as part of the soundtrack.

it's not the best film in the world - certainly no way near as good as spielberg's finest - but it's my first ever film. and considering that we filmed the whole thing in less than 2 hrs, and edited it in about 30 mins, i am really proud of what we were able to achieve within the imposed time limit.
yeah, i know: i used the game 'sin and punishment' as my inspiration for the title. but having said that, and although i did buy (and subsequently sell) sin and punishment 2 (wii), i'm not really a fan of that title - preferring its n64 prdecessor considerably more instead.
