New Siter Skain game (I think.....)

Post by postman »

Check out SS's site, 2 screenshots of a game that doesn't look to be Reflex:

Hopefully this is the third in the Siter Skain series of STGs, only why don't they finish Reflex before starting something new like this?

Oh, well that doesn't do me any good.

Hopefully there will be a playable downloadable demo soon.

Kamui was totally worth the money. Reflex looked really promising if they'd ever finish it. Color me interested.

Don't get your hopes up, guys; there's a reason they're only going to be selling it for 100 yen. Their description of it includes such choice phrases as "please don't think it'll be interesting as a game" and "it'll unmistakeably be very boring, and so clumsy it could hardly be called a game". The Japanese may be known for being humble, but this still sounds like a concept demo at best. Looks like they'd already decided to show up at Comiket, but didn't have anything to sell, so they threw this together quickly.

Incidentally, they also say that they won't release another version of RefleX 'till it's done. At least they're still working on it...

Well that blows. I'm sure they'll come up with something new for us soon, though.

I got a chance to play this, and yes it's very early in development, but of course being Siter Skain it shows a lot of promise........

It's basically Kamui with 3-d graphics (and very similar music), with a very short level and a nicely rendered boss........but the engine works well, and if they build on it and improve the hit detection a bit it should be another hit for SS.
