Input lag on SSF ?

Post by Raytrace »

I was playing Gradius I (MAME) last night, and then I went to play Gradius II from Gradius Deluxe Pack on SSF (I like the wider screen option) - when I went straight to Gradius II on SSF from Gradius I MAME and the input lag was MASSIVE, I couldn't believe it, when I went to play Gradius II MAME, straight away movement was much more responsive etc. and PC Engine also felt great. So I'm just wondering is it an SSF issue? or is Gradius Deluxe Pack on an actual Saturn pretty laggy? - I know the Saturn is very hard to emulate due to it's parallelness or whatever, but surely SSF has no difficulty emulating the 2D stuff? Or am I wrong?

I'm using a HRAP 2 going through a Venom/V-Twin adapter - I've never really noticed lagginess before, and in fact when I connected a Saturn into a Saturn to DC converter and then plugged that into the V-Twin, even then it wasn't really noticeably laggy...

Nope. All four Deluxe Packs control tight as hell on both Saturn and PS.
